No new additions to the poll. The total prospects on the ballot is fifty-three.
I voted for Marchan. Muzziotti is the guy in this slot a little earlier. They are minimal to no power guys, who play a premium position. Marchan got my vote because catcher is a very premium position.
Romero’s getting some votes here. He had a horrible season until they sent him to the AZL. He was a reliever and seemed to excel in a very very short season. If you think Romero is going to be a good to great reliever then this slot is way too early for him. I’d be inclined to vote Brogdon over him as a reliever. If you think he’s a starter, last years stats should chase him out of the top 30.
Marchan here as well. Solid, high floor pick with strong bat to ball skill. Ideal role player with 26th man versatility as a C, and he could develop into more with some added pop as his small frame fills out.
Damon Jones is my pick. He is the best pitcher left. He has velocity and great movement on his pitches. He needs a year in AA and AAA, but should benefit from it.
Marchan or Jones or JoJo here seems fine. Simon seems to do everything well except hit for enough power. I comp his ceiling to Inciarte and his floor to Ben Revere.
I’m buying into the Rojas hype. Picked him here.
I think Muzziotti is being underrated here. He was an above average hitter at high A at age 20, even without any power. He is an above-average defender.
I like Marchan too, but he is basically the same age as Muzziotti and was a worse hitter, also with no power.
Romero…does not belong this high my friends.
@ Boston…I agree with your post…I would like to see the high upside guys, Rojas, Simmons, Pipkin, etc. get picked soon.
I believe I’m burned out with guys like Romero, etc. Sure they could bounce back this year, but if they don’t they’ll end up in the pen.
