  1. Aside from Roman Quinn, who’s injured again, that list of outfielders literally makes me want to weep.

  2. Yeah, I follow the box scores every night, so as I began reading the players stat breakdowns, I stopped because I knew how depressing it was going to be.

  3. Thank god the major league team isn’t in urgent need of outfielders right now. I was hoping Ortiz would take of but understand his age. For love of god, no more ” elite hit tool” no power OF in draft.

  4. Just a note that Adam Haseley turned 22 in April which doesn’t make his numbers look better. 🙂

  5. This is really depressing. Still can’t believe they started Moniak in Clearwater. What a disaster.

    1. Maybe they should drop MM back to Lakewood and see if he can hit there, then worry about Advanced A next season. Still young so the Phils can afford to be patient.

  6. Muzziotti isn’t listed but he actually did OK in 47 PAs in Lakewood before going on the DL. If he can hit .300 at Lakewood as a 19 year old, we may have something there.

Just looking for any ray of hope in the outfield.

  7. Galls me…Phillies do spend some big money on Latin OFers (Ortiz/Pujols)…..then I see the Braves (Acuna) and the Nats (Robles) get 5-tool top ten players on the cheap.
    Comes down to scouting.
Fortunately, the pitchers make up for what seems to be an over-expenditure on OF players.

    1. Jhailyn and Pujols got that big $$ due to power potential. Scouts normally pay premium for power and velocity in youngsters on top of being a smooth fielding MI.

agree with you that Sal’s missed in the OF finds, but he made it up with strikes in the pitching side (Sixto, Medina, Seranthony, etc).

  8. Good lord, do we have a scouting department? Lots of huge misses with high first round picks. Successful organizations can’t keep having poor drafts.

  9. Its just Quinn and Cozens and that’s it for a long while. Lets move Walding to the outfield.

  10. It’s amazing how they can’t get the first round picks right. Let the scout who had 4 of his players make the Phillies last year make the picks.

  11. Not the start id like to see for our High draft picks. MM, Hasley, and Cornelius … ???Damn, I hope I get that kinda leash at my job. I’m rooting for them, but they are making me worry … that panic button is getting closer than I’d like it too. Many of us picked Ortiz to rake as well this year … the baseball gods must hate The Phillies scouting department!
