Phuture Phillies 2018 Reader Top 30 Poll for the Phillies #25 Prospect

Daniel Brito was your selection as the #24 prospect in the Phillies’ organization.

Brito received 79 of the 217 votes cast (36%). J.D. Hammer finished second with 28 votes (13%).  Spencer Howard finished third (21 votes, 10%), Jose Tavera fourth (16, 7%), Drew Anderson fifth (12, 6%), and McKenzie Mills sixth (10, 5%).  Fifteen others received the other 51 votes. Francisco Morales was your selection as the #23 prospect in the Phillies’ organization.

Morales received 71 of the 236 votes cast (30%).  Daniel Brito finished second with 49 votes (21%), J.D. Hammer finished third with 21 votes (9%), and  Drew Anderson finished fourth with 17 votes (7%).  Seventeen others received the other 78 votes. Open Discussion: Week of January 28, 2018

It’s just two-and-a-half weeks until pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater.  Some players are as anxious as we fans.

The hot  stove ratcheted up above a simmer as the Brewers engineered a blockbuster deal with the Marlins and then signed the biggest free agent deal so far this winter.  The Phillies, on the other hand, made a small splash with their own minor league free agent signing.

The Phillies announced some more international free agent acquisitions, and I found a dozen or so more that were posted to their transactions log recently from as far back as July 2017.

About 20 players are already in Clearwater, and another half dozen or more are expected to arrive this week.

The Phillies conducted a massive baseball operations meeting this week.
