Some sort of campers day at Bright House Field today. There were over 2,000 school children in attendance. Oh, what fun.
Jon Prosinski got the 10:30AM start. He scattered 6 hits and allowed 1 unearned run thru his first 7 innings before running out of gas in the 8th inning when he gave up a 3-2, wind-aided home run that barely cleared the left field wall into the Hammerhead bull pen. He was lifted after a ground out and a single. Prosiski gave up 2 doubles and a triplei n the innings prior to the home run but limited Jupiter to 1 earned run while striking out 3 batters, walking none, and inducing 10 ground balls. His final line after the bull pen surrendered his inherited runner was 7.1 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K.
Prosinski looked real good in the 3rd thru 7th innings.
Dan Child came on in relief with 1 out in the 8th inning. He allowed an inherited runner to score from first as well as 2 additional runs on a walk, double, single.
Kevin Walter pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning.
Offensively, the Threshers managed 5 hits. Nick Ferdinand went 3-3 with 2 singles and a solo home run in the ninth inning. The Threshers lost 5-1.
Tomorrow, XST vs Pirates at home. Threshers and Luis Paulino to avoid sweep of 4-game series against Jupiter.
