Ground Hog Day

After seeing my shadow, I am crawling out from the winter malaise to get back into the baseball mix.  Huge thank you’s to Matt and Brad who have held the site up over the last few months with hard work and well though out commentary.

With just over one month until the arrival of pitcher and catchers in Clearwater,we, here at Phuture Phillies are looking to add two more writers into the mix in our quest to continue to be the “go to” website for information on the Phillies minor league system.  We are looking for a writer to cover both Reading and Lakewood and would expect that writer to be able to cover each team live with regularity.  Matt, Brad and I are at a stage with the site where we want to take it to the next level and are looking for regular contributors that are willing to put in the time and energy to do that.  For James, who started this site, and now for Matt, Brad and I, this is a labor of love.  We all feel revitalized as Spring Training approaches and are looking for fresh ideas and fresh insight to take us up a notch.  Please reach out to me at if you have interest in contributing and we can work through the details together.

We expect to make an announcement over the next few days on the addition of a writer who will be covering the GCL and Clearwater Phillies for us and it is an addition who will provide experienced insight that I am very excited about.

Stay tuned.

  1. I would like to add that if you feel like you can aren’t able to cover an affiliate, but you feel like you have something to contribute to the site that you still reach out to Gregg or I. We can’t guarantee that we will have an opportunity, but we will see if there is potentially areas for growth in really reestablishing this site as the preeminent place for Phillies prospect news.

  2. Watching the younger players develop in ST and through the year may be the most exciting thing about 2014. This is probably the least anticipated (and certainly most dreaded) Phillies season since the late 90s. Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised but I doubt it. It would be nice to see some of the younger players develop in the minors and at the major league level. I plan on taking more trips to places like Reading, Lehigh Valley and Lakewood than I ever have in the past. There should be a lot of really exciting players in Lakewood.

  3. I would think it might be easier to find someone for Reading specifically and someone for Lakewood specifically. The commute between the two isn’t really something where I know of too many people who attend games of both teams regularly.

  4. so are we gonna stop the top 30 at 5 , im just saying you had me all worked up and then now you give me a Bill Murray movie in exchange, dont get me wrong I love Bill Murray but , yeah its cool , I just , well , yeah , you had me hanging on your every thread and now you cut the string.
