Box Score Roundup, 14 April 2011

Not a banner night down on the farm, as the Phillies four affiliates went 1-4. The Lakewood team may never hit. Stutes gave up a run. Darkness washed over this site. But after you regain your composure, check below the fold for the rundown.

Lehigh Valley Weekly Report 14 April 2011

Lehigh Valley went 3-3 during their first week of the 2011 season which gives some semblance of hope for a winning team after dismal starts in their first three seasons. Generally look for Lehigh Valley weekly reports to come out on Thursday, with a look at league leaders beginning next week. Box Score Roundup, 13 April 2011

Hey everyone. The second game just started in Lakewood, there’s no way I’ll be around to post that, so we’ll have to do without. If someone wants to add it tomorrow, that would be cool, if not, we’ll, we’ll gettem next time. Some solid performances tonight, including the continued mashing from Joe Savery, Leandro Castro continuing his hot start, and Jon Pettibone turning in another great effort. Basically the Clearwater team is awesome. Box scores are below the fold.

Brody Colvin to the DL

Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Brody Colvin has been placed on the disabled list by Clearwater after failing to complete the third inning yesterday.  Multiple outlets are reporting that the injury is a back injury.

One other note, pitcher Ryan Sasaki, a 13th round pick in the 2009 draft has been suspended for 50 games for an elevated testosterone/epitestosterone level.

Clearwater Threshers Report–4/11/11

Well, this has been a fun start.  Four straight wins to start the season–pounding a good major league starter en route to a 10-1 win in the opener, outpitching Dunedin in the next two, then a huge comeback win on the strength of 7th inning bombs from Leandro Castro and Kyle Lafrenz.  Lots of positives, a few negatives, and a need to remember we’re only four games into the season. Box Score Roundup, 10 April 2011

Today’s box scores are below the jump. And no, I do not know why Brody Colvin came out after 2 innings. Hopefully we’ll find out more soon.

AAA Weekend Update 10 April 2011

Game Summaries: 4/7–Lehigh Valley moved over .500 (1-0) for the first time in team history with a 7-2 victory over visiting Scranton.  The Ryne Sandberg era began with a bang bringing with it a new brand of baseball in Allentown, with it being made clear early that the team will be aggressive.  Starter Vance Worley was dominant, going six shutout innings, allowing just 4 hits, while walking one and striking out 9.  Lehigh Valley put up a three spot in the first inning on RBI singles by Delwyn Young and Brandon Moss.  The ‘Pigs tacked on three more in the 5th on a solo homer by Delwyn Young and a two run blast by Jeff Larish. Brandon Moss had a big day at the plate, while Mike Stutes was very impressive in relief, striking out three of the four hitters he faced. Continue reading AAA Weekend Update 10 April 2011
