The major league portion of the Rule 5 Draft has been postponed indefinitely, but the minor league portion is still being held this week. While we know whom the Phillies protected by adding them to the 40-man roster by the November 19th deadline, we do not know who was added to the Lehigh Valley roster for protection from the minor league portion of the draft. Updated Roster Information as We Go into Manfred’s Lockout
I’m replacing the earlier roster information article with this updated version. It should be current as we go into the transaction void brought on by a lockout that the MBL decided was necessary. (Yeah, MBL was intentional so that I can use the article “the”.) This will be pinned to the site as a reference in place of the older article. Open Discussion: Week of December 5, 2021
As threatened, Rob Manfred initiated a lockout at 12:01 AM on December 2, 2021, 2 minutes after the 2017-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement expired. He claimed that the lockout was necessary to move the talks with the Players’ Association forward. On the final day of the CBA, the belligerents met twice. The second meeting lasted about 7 minutes before the owners’ group walked out and left the premises. Sounds like a “lock in” might have been more effective. 2022 Phuture Phillies Readers’ Top 30 Poll
It’s almost time for this year’s Readers’ Top Thirty. I will start polling sometime after the Rule 5 draft. I want to give Trader Dave time to move or add prospects before I start running the polls. In the meantime, I’ll be preparing the polls. To that end, I’ve included a list of players to include in the polls at the bottom of this article. Let me know if I’ve missed anyone. It’s a long list. I can’t imagine I missed a prospect, but let me know. I’ve removed recently traded Logan Cerny and added recently acquired Donny Sands.

For pitchers, walk and strikeout rates are arrived at by dividing walks and strikeouts by batters faced (BB%=BB/BF and K%-K/BF). The percentages throughout the Phillies’ organization will be listed below. (This has been a work in progress. The recently departed players have been struck through rather than removed.
