Crawford went 1-4.  Cam Perkins went 2-3 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Aaron Altherr went 1-4 with a HR and 2 RBI.  Roman Quinn went 0-5 and commited a run-permitting error.  Gustavo Pierre went 0-4 with 2 RBI, but commited an error that prevented the end of what became a 4-run inning.  Nefi Ogando inherited a 7-6 lead but couldn’t hold the win for Colton Murray.  Zach Eflin (4-4, 3.38) pitches tomorrow. Box Score Recap – 6/4/2015

Got to the Complex for the game today and found that they started early again.  Ethan Martin had plodded through the first three innings.  Mid 80s, just like his last outing.  Meh.

Franklyn Kilome pitched the middle four innings.  He’s still in the mid 90s.  Definitely looks like he’s working on secondary pitches and keeping his FB down.  Threw a few ugly curves like he did last outing, but snapped off several nice ones.  Got a swinging K with one.  Walked three, but the Pirates only threatened once – two leadoff walks and a sac put runners in scoring position but the “breaking ball” K and a ground out ended the inning. Box Score Recap – 6/3/2015

Lehigh Valley (20-34) dropped both games of their double header with the Rochester Red Wings.  Joely Rodriguez gave up 6 runs in 4.2 innings on 9 hits and 2 walks on the way to a 7-4 loss in game one.  Dom Brown went 2-4 with an RBI and Gabriel Lino went 1-3 with an RBI in his IronPigs’ debut.  The ‘Pigs came back to tie the game in the fourth, but Rodriguez failed to produce a shutdown inning and absorbed his fifth loss.  Phillippe Aumont went 6.0 innings in the second game, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks.  He had a lead but a 2-run home run in the fourth inning proved to be too much for the IronPigs to overcome.  Brown went 1-4 with an RBI.  Lino DNP.  Adam Morgan (0-5, 5.33) pitches tomorrow. Lehigh Valley (20-32) – no game scheduled.  Joely Rodriguez (2-4, 5.27) pitches tomorrow.

Reading (27-23) lost to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 6-3.  Zach Eflin pitched well but gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks over 7.0 innings.  He shut the Squirrels out for 6.0 innings on 1 hit.  Unfortunately, a walk and home run put the Phils behind in the seventh.  The offense scored single runs in the final three innings, but Colton Murray had come on in relief to make sure that 3 runs wouldn’t be enough, and Eflin got his fourth loss.  Roman Quinn and J.P.Crawford each had 2 hits.  Brock Stassi had the Phils only RBI, his 41st.  Quinn was caught stealing twice, both on pickoffs.  Tom Windle (1-3, 4.53) pitches tomorrow.
