First overall pick Adley Rutschman is off to some start… .456/.619/.895 = 1.514 OPS
That is not a typo. he really has a .619 OB% with a 30.95% walk rate and a 11.9% K rate and 8 homers in 57 ABs.
That is special.

Assume the Os do not mess that selection up.
If they pass on him, then Royals or next in line the WSox will grab him
an elite hitting and good defensive catcher is the ultimate no brainer pick.
Adley Rutschman should be a slam dunk 1-1 selection for Baltimore. However … the twist in this scenario occurred this offseason when the Orioles hired Bobby Witt Jr’s uncle (Doug Witt) into their organization as a scout.
Still gotta’ believe it would be a titanic upset if Rutschman isn’t picked by the O’s.
Figures… a guy like Rutschman is available this year at 1-1. Others like Griffey, Strassburg, Harper, Correa also available when we don’t pick. When we get the first pick, we end up with Mickey Moniak. Ugh. Oh well, at least we didn’t get Aiken or Appel.
