Maikel Franco #17, Jesse Biddle #71, and JP Crawford #78 on Baseball America Top 100

Last night Baseball America release their Top 100 prospects in minor league baseball.  The Phillies were represent on that list by Maikel Franco (17), Jesse Biddle (71), and J.P. Crawford (78).  Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez was eligible for the list, but did not make it.

There are many parts of the list I don’t agree with, but that has a lot to do with my personal philosophies on what has value.  The full list can be found here.

Here are the writeups on the Phillies Players:

  1. I think had Biddle had a healthy year last year and continued on his hot start , remember that 15 K performance and all that he would be ranked closer to Franco , viva la Franco !!

  2. I remember when we were debating if BOA would put Franco in top 50. Now he is inching closer to blue chip player.

    1. He’s a blue chip prospect at 17, not sure there’s any way around that at this point, Winkleman be damned! Haha (poking fun)

  3. I am encouraged by the recent formal and informal reports on Franco’s defense. If he can stick at 3B, Franco could have more value than Sano, who has the better bat, but more questions on D.
