  1. Gueller, Knapp, Green, Pullin, and Cozens are the ones to watch. I suppose Lino as well. How is that catching situation going to work out? I guess Knapp and Lino will split catching and DHing?

    1. Manny Martinez as well as Sam Hiciano are also interesting guys. Martinez was the GCL opening day guy last year and got promoted mis-season to WIL, and Hiciano skipped GCL after playing the Domincan Summer League last summer.

    2. I’ll still be watching Angelo Mora. Struggled in Lakewood but showed decent command of the strike zone with a 12% walk rate.

  2. Fun fact: Justin Parr has a twin brother, Jordan, drafted by the Dbacks. They also have an older brother, Josh, also in the Dbacks org.

    1. I don’t think he ever really was considered to be a top 15 prospect. He was (and still is) just a really young guy with a lot of projection. Unfortunately, not much performance to date.

    1. Jiandido Tromp is my sleeper prospect for this team.
The guy I believe will perform the best is Andrew Pullin. The guy that I hope surprises me, and performs the best, is Mitch Gueller.

      1. Tromp is the guy I like. I’d be surprised if the starting outfield isn’t him, Cozens and Parr. He’s got all kinds of tools and really puts a charge in the ball for a smaller guy.

  3. You forgot the guy who might be the best pitcher on the team. Franklyn Vargas. Also, sleeper, J.D. Therien.

    1. Oh yeah, Vargas. I wonder if he’s injured or if they’re maybe about to promote him to Lakewood instead of Williamsport. No reason he should be back in the GCL, I would say.

      1. Yeah, I thought there was a chance they skipped Vargas to Lakewood, at the beginning of the season, but since he is so young, I suppose they are protecting his arm.

  4. There is also a chance they have Steven Golden CF, and Richard Bielski RHP, on the Williamsport roster. They were only 17 years old last year, so they may get sent back to the GCL this year.

  5. A few fun guys to watch. Knapp dominating would be quite nice but Asche was terrible then double promoted so what would I know.

Any guesses on ‘starting’ lineup? Any other signees that would upset the current roster?
    My uneducated guesses below.
SP: Guellar, Martin, Prosinski, L.Martinez, M.Martinez.
Lineup: Mora (SS), Pullin (2B), Knapp (C), Pierce (1B), Cozens (RF), Green (3B), Parr (LF), Lino (DH), Tromp (CF). Like to see Knapp at 1B, Green at SS, and one of the OF rotated in.

    1. Your lineup looks like what I would have expected. I haven’t confirmed, but have heard a potential pitching rotation of Gueller, Anderson, Warner, Martin, Prosinski. Again, that’s not set in stone.

    2. I’d expect Tromp to be higher up in the order, esp since he got a cup of coffee with them last year.

  6. Andrew Anderson was a pleasant surprise in GCL last year. Cool that he may have earned a rotation spot

  7. hope spring eternal with these guys , I hope at least one becomes an allstar and the others get key hits in the world series that the phillies win. Good luck to all of them and may they all be successful in whatever the future brings and, here is to the 2013 Williamsport CrossCutters , HA ZA and i raise my drink to you all.

  8. If Hiciano’s not starting everyday, he should at least be in a pretty strict 4-man OF rotation. With his age, the numbers he put up in the DSL last year, and the fact that they’re jumping him to Williamsport, he’s my short-season breakout candidate.
