Box Score Recap – 6/7/2013

Cody Asche had a nice day over 2 short games. Ethan Martin had a pretty bad day on the hill. John Lannan threw for CLR – Nothing to write home about, but he’s on the way back.

Just noticed the DSL was no-hit. Brutal.

  1. Asche is quietly nudging the OPS toward .800, and I expect him to be closer to that mid-.800 he posted last season. He consistently produces as he moves from level to level, and I expect similar consistency when he’s playing third for the Phils next season.

Fun fact: Asche is tied for second in the International League in triples (4). Who is the only player ahead of him? Cesar Hernandez.

    1. If he can cut his K% down to 20% or less it would be nice. But yes he’s doing about as well as we could have expected before the season. Hopefully he becomes a solid regular with the big club

      1. No, Dunedin’s starter, 28 year old Austin Bibens-Dirkx. Dudes even got a wiki page for some reason. Since when do they make those for career minor leaguers? I don’t think he’s rehabbing because he’s made 9 starts in AA this year. What the hell Toronto?

        1. Org filler moves where there’s a hole, regardless of age. If they needed a starter and no one from A- was ready for A+, or if they’re trying to keep an org guy working if they’re full at AA, or if they’re trying to avoid taxing a young bullpen, there’s no reason not to use him.

  2. It looks like Severino is getting his first start tonight after the rain shortened game is completed.
