A look back at the week of May 30-June 5. Random Thoughts….Austin Wright is a totally different pitcher than last year. Is it injury lack of confidence or both? Kelly Dugan had one of the best offensive weeks of the year…do you move him to Reading this year if he continues?Tyson Gillies new swing may be starting to take….Hoby Milner has started turning some heads but can such a small frame survive longterm?Remember the name Mauricio Robles…with Aumont and Diekman so wildly inconsistent, Robles could sneak onto the Phils roster with another injury….The enigma that is Brody Colvin continues.

Hate to say it, and I hope I’m proven wrong, but Larry Greene appears to be nothing more than hot garbage.

We might actually have a “toolsy” future outfield of Brown, Altherr and Dugan. How far have those last two risen in our draft rankings? Both are top 10 for sure.

I don’t see either player as top 10 yet. They are both 5th year pro, 22 year olds, playing in single A. I think they both need to force their way to AA, and produce there this year, in order to be considered top 10 worthy.
Of the preseason top 10, the only ones I would drop out would be Pettibone (service time), Martin and Ruf. I see 1.Biddle, 2. Franco, 3. Quinn, 4. Joseph, 5. Morgan, 6. Tocci, 7. Hernandez, 8. Asche, 9. Watson, 10. Rosin, Martin, and Mecias as all having more trade value than Altherr and Dugan.

I have a hard time with these top tens, but to have Rosin, over Perkins to me is really crazy.

If you believe what I think is crazy, then there is a good chance I’m on the right track.

How long before they realize that Logan Moore is not going to make it? A good arm can only get you so far, especially in the National League where there’s no DH.
