What will become of Jeremy Slayden?

Jeremy Slayden, currently mashing in the Florida State League, has been a popular topic of discussion of late. I plan on writing a profile on Slayden later this week and giving my thoughts, but before I do, I wanted to get YOUR opinion and see what you think. So, here’s how you can do your part…

Head on over here and cast your vote. The options are fairly straight forward, and I believe most career paths possible are represented by the choices. If none of those suit your needs, just post in the comments section here, and I’ll add your vote to the total when I do the writeup later this week.

  1. Honestly I think Slayden would be better off with an AL team where he could play some DH (which he has done a lot of for the Threshers). It is so hard to tell though until he gets to a higher level. I have seen many players do great at Clearwater (Chris Roberson is a recent example,) and not be able to show the same numbers when moved to AAA/MLB.

  2. He’s having a good year as an over-age player in Hi-A. Let’s
see how he does when bumped up to AA. Still too early to
determine where he will end up.

  3. It is really a crime against the gods of player development that he is not in AA today.
