The Threshers fell 7-4 tonight. I feel like I watched two different games in those 9 innings. In the first game, Adam Loewen and Lee Ridenhour pitched the Threshers to a 4-1 lead thru 7 innings. The offense collected 9 hits and scored in 3 of the first 4 innings. In the second game, two relievers combined to surrender 5 hits, 6 runs, and 2 walks in 2 innings. The offense went hitless over the final 5 innings. Continue reading Threshers; May 30, 2014

The Threshers rebounded this afternoon with a gutty 5-4, 11 inning win over the Fort Myers Miracle. For 8 innings, it looked like another 4-hit loss with a decent outing by starter Colin Kleven. Kleven pitched into trouble in the 5th inning when he hit a batter after recording his 4th strike out. The Miracle executed a hit-and-run and scored the runner with out a throw on a double. Afterward, his only walk of the game, a sac fly, and his 5th strike out ended the 29-pitch inning. Kleven responded with a tidy 9 pitch 6th inning to close out his afternoon with the following line – Continue reading Threshers; May 28, 2014

Brody Colvin started his third game since joining the Threshers.   He struggled with his control all night.  Most of his pitches looked like they were high.   Even his strikes looked like they were up in the zone as he threw 39 strikes and 36 balls.   He pitched from behind on most batters, only throwing 4 first-pitch strikes.

Colvin lasted 3.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits and 4 walks.   His 1 strike out came on the third out of the first inning with 2 runners on base as he ended a Hammerhead threat. Continue reading Threshers; May 13, 2014
