It was brought to my attention that there are google ads being inserted into the “possibly related posts” section that shows up under the text of new entries. I don’t know when this started, but I think it is a recent phenomenon. As far as I know, there is no way for me to disable this. I didn’t notice it because I use ad-blocking extensions to block this crappy ads. I’m going to look for solutions to get rid of these ads, but because wordpress is a free hosting site, I don’t think I can get rid of them. For now, I suggest doing the following
If you use Firefox, install Ad Block or something similar
If you use Google Chrome (which is my browser of choice), also has Ad Block.
If I come up with something else, I’ll let you know.
If you can’t help yourself and need to discuss wild rumors that will never come true with regard to trades, do so right here. If your comments end up in other postings that are completely unrelated, they’ll be deleted. Thanks for your consideration on this matter.
May was young for the FSL, and as we noted, he had issues with his command and control, a not uncommon trait for raw pitchers. Maybe the Phillies simply want him to get back to basics, and felt it would be best to have him do that at Lakewood. Way, on the other hand, was too old for the SAL, and after a rough start to the season, had pitched better of late. He needs to be on the fast track.
For about $200K, per Baseball America. Like Freddy Galvis, it appears his glove is ahead of his bat, but we don’t know a ton about him yet, obviously. Still nice to see the Phillies active early.
Just a note, the international signing period opens up on July 2nd. I don’t expect the Phillies to be major players, but a few $250K-$500K guys are possible. If I find stuff on that, I’ll make a dedicated post. If you see any articles, feel free to send them to me via email. Now, last night’s boxes
GCL Phillies lost 3-1.
Williamsport won 4-1.
Lakewood won 3-2.
Clearwater won 4-0.
Reading lost 6-5.
Lehigh Valley won 6-4.
Quick note. Jarred Cosart is on the 7 day DL with a “minor elbow strain”. I wouldn’t get too upset about this yet, there’s a good chance its just a minor soreness thing. Better safe than sorry.
Matt Rizzotti has been a popular topic of conversation on this site this season. First it was Cody Overbeck who was being “disrespected” by me, and then it was Rizzotti. Well, while I wasn’t the biggest believer in Overbeck, I’m starting to believe in Rizzoitti’s bat a bit. I believe there are still a number of issues he needs to work on, and a number of hurdles he has to overcome, but I’m interested, and when I get interested, I go and look a bit closer. Check below for my thoughts on Matt Rizzotti going forward.
