2025 Arizona Fall League (10/21/2025)

Here are some more AFL updates.

The Phillies placed 8 players on the AFL’s Surprise Suguaros.

  1. RHP Daniel Harper (AAA)
  2. RHP Tommy McCollum (AAA)
  3. RHP Eiberson Castellano (AA)
  4. RHP Jack Dallas (AA)
  5. RHP Jaydenn Estanista (AA)
  6. OF Dante Nori (AA)
  7. OF Dylan Campbell (AA)
  8. SS Bryan Rincon (A+) (he also played in the AFL last season)

Through 11 games, our guys have accumulated the following stats for the 7-4 Saguaros.  They have won a couple shootouts, 11-10 and 12-11.  They have also played through a 3-game losing streak where they were outscored 36-9.  They have been outscored 78 to 69 thru 11 games.  Tuesday, all teams played double headers to make up postponed games from October 12th.  The Saguaros were the only team to sweep their double header.

Dante Nori returned to action Tuesday.  It was his first start (or appearance) since game one.  I don’t know if he had been injured.  He was replaced an inning after a caught stealing.

    1. Rincon was drafted out of HS and 2025 was his 4th year in the system. I believe he has 1 more left before he’s rule V eligible (not that it matters in his case). I think he’ll get more year in the system.

  1. Dante Nori is having a very nice AFL season…though a SSS he is slashing .375/.483/.417 so far…….he is a pure hitter, he just makes contact. He finished at Reading last year with 5 games in Sep…..I am assuming the Phillies will start him there again next season vs Jersey Shore.

    1. rocco….Reading would be the logical starting point…face AA pitching and if he does well, then onto LHV sometime in the second half of the season.

Have to admit…I had reservations about the Phillies drafting him….primarily due to his advanced age facing HS pitchers, but so far he has proved me wrong and that is a nice revelation.

      1. I am sure he will start in Reading, where he barely got his feet wet this year. He’s an interesting prospect. He’s all about hit tool and plate discipline. If he could learn to hit with even a little power, then he could become very promising – it not, he’ll struggle to be better than Ben Revere. I have to say that I saw him ST last year and like what I saw. He has a big motor and seems to give maximum effort. That said, if Justin Crawford is your centerfielder, it’s hard to see where he is going to play.

        1. The little I have seen of him he reminds me of Brewers’ OFer Sal Frelick ..similar physical measurables with an aggressive approach once they cross over the foul lines onto the playing field.

          1. Yeah, I can see the similarities. It’s certainly as good of a comp as you’re going to find in the MLB today. If Nori turns out to be as good as Frelick, then we’ll all be happy.

    1. rocco…do not know.

But they did bring in a LHP and Rangers’ prospect Pollard , who came in for Nori, is a right handed bat….and it was a championship game and at the time they were trailing, So it may have been just a managerial decision to get something going in their final game.
