Aldegheri, from Italy, is such a great story already but if he can get promoted quickly, the study will get even better. He has a very good lefty arm. Crawford with 2 dingers in 7 games?? The guy with no power?? Very exciting!

The crazy thing is that both Crawford’s HRs were opposite field HRs. He’ll be fine and we’ll see what level he ends up in at the end of the season.

The concern with Crawford coming into this season was not that he had no power. His exit velos were very good last year. The concern was that he hit too many ground balls. Last year his GB/FB ratio was 5+. This year it has dropped to 1.43. The result is his power numbers are up across the board. It’s still early but looks like he made the swing adjustments they wanted him to make.

He could have started working on a more upper cut swing approach this off-season, along with the added muscle.

They said they were working on his swing path. Early results are good

An under the radar name to watch is Gunner Mayer. They finally converted him to a RP this year. I had felt all along that he should have been an RP. Has 8Ks and 0 walks in 4 IP. I saw a report that he was topping out at 94 as a SP 2 years ago. Would love to see what his velo has been this year in relief. Anyone know?
If he keeps it up he could get a bump to Reading and then who knows.

Thank goodness we drafted the third HS OF taken in 2022, and not the first two (Elijah Green and Druw Jones). Those two can’t hit.

Sometimes you get lucky, because if the Phillies had to pick between Druw Jones or Justin Crawford, I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be happy with the result.
