The IronPigs continued their early season pattern of falling behind early.  They quickly rallied to tie but still lost for the second time this weekend.

Prior to the game, The Phillies recalled RHP Nick Nelson from Lehigh Valley to replace RHP Luis Ortiz who was placed on the 15-day IL with a sprained ankle.  No announcement of a replacement for Nelson yet.

Lehigh Valley (1-2) lost to the Worcester Red Sox, 6-2.  

RHP David Buchanan got the start and gave up 2 runs in the third inning.  After the IronPigs rallied to tie in the bottom of the third, Buchanan gave up 3 runs in the fourth.  He has a 4-pitch mix – low 90s sinker, high 80s cutter, low 80s changeup, high 70s curve ball There was no more scoring until the Sox tacked on a run in the eighth off Griff McGarry.

Lehman features a low 90s 4-seam FB, upper 80s cutter, upper 70s curveball.

Houston has a 92-94 mph sinker, low 80s sweeper.

McGarry has a 93-95 mph 4-seam FB, mid-80s cutter, upper 70s curveball.

Ruiz has a 95-97 mph 4-seam FB, 95 mph sinker, 89 mph changeup, low-to-mid 80s curveball, 87 mph slider.

The IronPigs offensive moment came in the third inning when Kody Clemens hit a game-tying, two-out, 2-run HR plating Nick Podkul who had a leadoff single earlier.

Darick Hall and David Dahl also had singles as the IronPigs tallied just 4 hits and collected zero walks.

Clemens is batting .333 with a 1.052 OPS.  Hall is at .300/.717.

Aramis Garcia threw out 2 of 2 potential base stealers.
