  1. why do they keep on running elarton out there? he is cooked as far as pitching goes.. time to scott to hang up the cleats

  2. Betcha Austin Hyatt’s moral and self confidence are in the tank – given his latest performances and yo-yo status between LV and Reading

Has anyone in the organization worked with him to fix his mechanics? there’s an obvious mechanical issue that needs addressing. Yo-yo-ing him back down to READING will not help… it might kill his potential and motivation for good.

    1. He’s back after 2 games in Reading. That is how it goes for players signed from an Independent League for the most part. Don’t see why some have this as a priority.

  3. Can J-Rod, and Martin or even Morgan get the call? It would hurt to jump start them in AAA to prepare them for 2013? IMO Morgan could be AAA material now, he has impressive stuff, seems to be two or three tiers below Matt Moore though

    1. ^That is the call to AAA to replace Brummett, Cochran, and Elarton as the season winds down, sorry for not clarifying

  4. Any Projections on Lehigh Valley’s Roster next year? Pettibone, Cloyd, Rodriguez, Martin, Morgan. That would be an amazing rotation with Joesph, and Valle catching, Hernandez at 2B, Asche at 3B, and Ruf, Gillies, and James and maybe Castro in the OF. It should be a pretty good team, but looking at their current roster, I cannot see them bringing back any of the current non-prospect position players except Kyle Hudson, he could make a career out of being the guy he was traded for, Rich Thompson.

    1. I would expect James, Gillies, and Mitchell in the OF with Ruf, Cesar, Galvis, and Asche in the IF with Joseph catching. I have a hunch that Valle will be traded with a pitcher or two. They need two outfielders, maybe one if they decide Mayberry and Schierholz can platoon, a 3rd baseman and a 5th starter. Someone will come from a trade. Morgan will be at Reading with May, Colvin, Wright, and Biddle although I suppose May could go up if he finishes strong. I assume Pettibone will be the “6th starter” with Cloyd, Martin, Jrod, and a veteran 5th starter. I don’t see Hyatt staying as a starter after this year but I could be wrong. Cloyd will have a chance to make the big club as a long man, let’s see how he does in Sept after his likely call up. Who will be traded?

      1. I’d expect to see at least one veteran type, if not two, to start the season. You know, the Rodrigo Lopez or the Pat Misch or the like, just so there’s an experienced guy to call up early in the season. After things start to wash out though, the “fantasy rotation” above may come to fruition.

Same thing with the outfielders, perhaps a vet or two to start, but then things have a way of working out with injuries and releases and the like.

What of the manager, though? Do those in the know think Dusty will be coming up (as well as movement below him to fill in)? Having Sandberg for a third year seems impossible, although I’d selfishly love to have him.

        1. I cant imagine that Sandberg will be back, as much as I would love to see him. I would think Wathan moves up and Sandberg is the Phils bench coach come april.

    2. I would be surprised to see Morgan to start the year, but I think Cloyd, Pettibone and Martin are givins…I see Asche getting another 200 AB’s in Reading before a move up. The OF…Ruf (LF), Gillies (CF) and Castro in RF with Rich THompson resigned to provide some veteran leadership for the young group.

      1. I agree on Asche…they will want to see if this year was real or a fluke with him…thus he’ll start in AA again.
