How do you pronounce Knigge?
LikeLike
I think it is pronounced like nig but I’m not 100%.

Even if it was, it wouldn’t be pronounced like that on radio or TV, I’m, pretty sure of that,

You say the K. It is pronouned “Kuh-niggy”

It was pronounced like that when he was introduced in the draft. I heard the Williamsport radio announcers pronounce it like it was KENG-ghee, I would go with that.

I fart in your general direction, you silly Kuh-nighit!!!!

For those of you old enought to remember “Grease”, remember the guy Kanicky? Well, that’s how it’s prounced, except with a “G”. Whoever Bill B is has it correct. And I should know because I went to grade school and high school with him and know his family. It’s “Kuh-NIGGY”. Adn btw the reference to The Holy Grail is awesome.

A century too late. I want to see a Knigge/Otto Knabe platoon.

I guess Gillies just missed the cut for hot hitters?

Jiwan James early success is a direct reflection of all the hardwork he put in during the offseason.

Agreed. It looked like he could be snagged in Rule V and I bet there are teams out there who could have hidden him on the roster all year. Nice to see James out of the gate quickly. The bomb he hit Tuesday night left the park quickly. It would be nice to see some of these raw athletes finally come into their own.

Nobody was going to try and stash a High-A player who hadn’t had a break out year yet on their 25-man roster all year. It wasn’t going to happen.

Cubs come close with Lendy C,..but he is a pitcher.

Pitchers are fairly easy to stash. You make them the 12th guy and roll them out in blowouts only. Really hard to hide a position player all year.

much easier to do with a pitcher you can hide in a mop-up roll in the pen vs. a bench spot, especially for a NL team.

i think halladay needs a demotion for a lil bit, he needs to regain confidence to get more ks

I totally agree, Blanton can take over in the ace spot and do some real damage. I also think that they should sign Burrell to a longer deal and have him replace Pence in Right field so that they can get more power in the lineup.

Is it safe to say that the article comparing Mike Nesseth to Roy Halladay was just wrong? I mean, would it be wrong to write him off at this point?
LikeLike
Well if you think Lincecum and JJ will both carry ERAs over 8 for the entire season, go right ahead. I’m not comparing Nesseth to any MLB pitchers, for the record. Just trying to point out that small sample sizes affects even the most dominant players sometimes.

I was half joking, but since you bring it up, Lincecum and JJ have track records. Mike Nesseth pitched ok at Williamsport in his one season of professional baseball.

Writing a guy off after 3 innings is a bit harsh. On the other hand, with him being 24 years old in low A, he may want to pick it up fast, or be put in the bullpen.

After one bad start, yes it would be wrong to write him off. That being said he is at Low A and needs a good deal of work.

Madson will go to the highest bidedr, and that may not be the Phils. Hopefully we can keep him but if the price is too high, then I say BYE BYE.And what do you mead by loogieMadson hired Boros and I believe he will go to the highest bidedr. I hope the Phils can keep him if the price is not ridiculous. What do you mean by Ruben looking to sign a LOOGY in the offseason? That is not clear to me but I expect you mean someone like Baez or Contraras.
