Hat tip to Squire for this in yesterday’s post.
Lehigh Valley – LHP James Happ
Reading – RHP Andrew Carpenter
Clearwater – LHP Joe Savery
Lakewood – RHP Drew Naylor
If that proves to be true, you have 4 prospects starting 4 games. That won’t happen every night, but its certainly a welcomed sight. I’ll do full recaps of the games tomorrow, and we’ll be under way.
… and there is a chance (albeit an infinitely small one) that three of those four starters could see time in Philly this year.

The really good news is that each team in the system, except for AAA, will have multiple prospects in the rotation. Now its time for these kids to produce and make things interesting.

Lehigh Valley on MiLB TV tonight at 7pm. If you have MLB TV, you can get it. Not sure if it is free for others or not. Sometimes there are teaser games early in the seasin.

Just looking at the box scores. Reading won. Carpenter with the win. They got the runs and had a easy victory. The Pigs were one hit. No real prospects here except Jaramillo. Happ didn’t pitch that well but only had 1 walk. Let’s build on that. Clearwater loast a 2-1 game. Savery went 5 but gave up 5 walks. Stop that! Cardenas had 3 hits. I don’t like seeing him in high A. I know Harman and Donald are at AA but how long before he gets bored? Lakewood was shut out. Looks like Naylor had one bad inning. Lake County (the team they were playing) were running their butts off. 4 steals and 2 Caught stealing. Naughton was getting his throwing in. Looks like the steals might have disrupted Naylor and the other pitchers.
The season’s begun! Wahoo!!!

Looks like Chance Chapman is being used in relief, at least it appears that way since he had a blown save in tonight’s game.
