I’ve gotten that question in my inbox from about 10 people in the last 12 hours…..I have no idea. I sent out a few e-mails to try and get some info, nothing as of now. If I do find out why he left last night’s game after 3 batters, I’ll be sure and share it in this space, so keep an eye out. You won’t find hearsay or wild speculation here, if I have anything to pass on, it will be from a reliable source. Let’s just hope it’s nothing major.
UPDATE: Now we know. Sounds like nothing major.
Somebody posted mild groin pull on BSG forum.

“He’s got a little bit of a strain,” Phillies farm director Steve Noworyta said. “He might miss a start, but right now it looks like he’s going to be OK.”

Really enjoy your site, keep up the great work. I was reading some of the Kevin Goldstein interview and interesting how he picked Jason Donald as a sleeper, pretty nice call thus far.

Clearwater right-hander Carlos Carrasco, the Phils’ top prospect according to Baseball America, left his start Tuesday at Fort Myers after facing three batters with a groin injury. After leaving the game, Carrasco threw 40 pitches in the bullpen and felt fine. The 20-year-old Venezuelan is 4-1 with a 4.28 ERA in eight starts

I asked Carlos about it last night and he said he is fine, nothing to worry about. I hope he’s right, because he’s doing great for Clearwater this season and I would hate to see his development slowed by injury.
