Line Score Recap – 4-2-2013

So yeah, I can’t find a box score anywhere.  Help me out, if you’ve seen one, and I’ll screengrab it and post it.

Jeff Schuler’s game story from the Allentown Morning Call, (with line score)

Mike Drago’s Game story from the Reading Eagle

And of course you can read what Matt had to say about it on our site.

General Discussion – Week of April 1. Our Long National Nightmare Is Over Edition

Hey, there’s baseball today. Feel free to discuss it at length.

General Discussion – Week of March 25. “Ok it’s barely the week of March 25 anymore, but the weekend counts, right?” Edition

Super late on this week’s general discussion. Two games this weekend against the Jays at CBP, then Monday night’s opener. I know none of you are excited for this at all. Sorry to remind you of the nothingness that is opening day.

But hey! Box score recaps begin Thursday night, (or Friday morning). I know you’re all looking forward to my “pithy” remarks and acceptable screencapping skills. So at least you have something to get you through the next six days.

General Discussion – Week of March 18. Brad Projects a Roster

Yeah, I’ll give it a go. Good a place as any to discuss it:

Starters – Cole, Roy, Cliff, KK and Lannan (Cloyd #6 in AAA, at least until June or so when Pettibone could overtake him – Cook and Lopez start in AAA with Cook #7 for now – both are emergency/expendible guys if they need one start before Pettibone is ready).

Relievers – Pap, Adams, Bastardo, Valdes, Durbin, Aumont, Stutes (Horst to AAA, tough luck for him)

Catchers – Kratz, Quintero, (Ruiz is suspended, and Valle is the emergency guy IMO for the first 25 days – not going to start the clock on Joseph, and they don’t have a roster spot to burn once they add Quintero, unless they waive someone like Robles or Savery)

Infield – RyHo, Chase, JRoll, MYoung, Frandsen, Yuni (if they can’t move him and find him a 40-man roster spot, [Robles/Savery again], Galvis if they can move him)

Outfielders – Dom, Revere, Mayberry, Nix, Inciarte (Jermaine Mitchell just isn’t quite enough and Pete Orr is Pete Orr)

DL – Delmon

What say all of you?

General Discussion – Week of March 11, 2013 – RIP Roy’s Arm Edition

Poor Roy Halladay’s arm.

Discuss.

General Discussion – Week of March 4, 2013 COLE HAMELS PROBABLY DOMINATED THE DOM REP TODAY Edition

Yeah, just so you know, I haven’t watched the Phillies versus Dom Rep yet. NO SPOILERS. I’m sure Cole Hamels set down those clowns in like no time, prolly went 6 innings of no hit ball. BOOM HAMELS! *checks Twitter* OH MY GOD HE’S GONE OFF THE RAILS AND WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Discuss.

General Discussion – Week of February 25. Who Gets Cut First? Edition

I don’t mean cut, like Ethan Martin sent to minor league camp, but like which Minor League FA or “other” gets released. I will go ahead and guess that it’s Aaron Cook.

Thirty-One Short Blurbs About Prospects

We’ve all had the arguments, we know where we stand and why. I hashed out around half of these guys in various posts since the tail end of December, and many more in the comments of the Reader Poll, and Matt is going to go into way more detail that I am tomorrow. So, without further delay, I bring you:

General Discussion – Week of February 18. Hilarious Giancarlo Stanton Rumors Edition.

So some guy says the Phillies are aggressively pursing Giancarlo Stanton. It would have to be aggressive, otherwise, they’d just be waved out of the room and a large man in a suit would show them the door.

Rube: GIVE ME STANTON, NOW!!!  I’VE GOT NEARLY UNLMITED SUPPLIES OF FRINGY RELIEF ARMS IN THE HIGH MINORS AND ALSO SOME KIND OF KNIFE IN MY POCKET!!! No, I won’t show you the knife. Oh, trust me, it’s a knife. Like one of those ones with the wavy edge? What’s that? Serrated? Am I saying it right? Ser…serrated?

THAT’S RIGHT, I’VE GOT A SERRATED KNIFE, A CATCHER OF YOUR CHOICE, AND A LOWER LEVEL THIRD BASEMAN, PLUS A FUTURE #4 STARTER. DUDE! BRO! COME ON! DON’T TASE ME, BRO!

General Discussion – Week of February 11. Spring is in the air.

Pope who did what? I missed it. Busy noticing our ballplayers announcing their arrival times via Twitter. CHRIS NICHOLS GETS IN TO TAMPA TONIGHT AT 7:30 Y’ALL!
