Lehigh Valley lost to Worcester.  Austin Hays had 2 hits in a rehab role as DH..


Lehigh Valley (33-39, 67-78, seventh in their division, 1 game remaining) Lost to Worcester, 4-3.  Kyle Tyler pitched five innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits.  He walked none and struck out five.  Nelson Alvarez pitched a scoreless inning striking out three.  Freddy Tarnok pitched 0.2 innings and gave up 2 runs on one hit and 2 walks.  He struck out two and took the loss.  Jose Cuas let one of 2 inherited runners pitched 0.2 innings allowing a hit and striking out one.  Andrew Bellatti pitched 0.2 innings walking one.  Dylan Covey pitched one scoreless inning allowing a hit and striking out one.

The IronPigs tied the game with 2 runs in the fourth inning.  Austin Hays led off with a single.  Carson Taylor followed with a single.  Hays scored from second on an RBI single by Buddy Kennedy.  Both runners moved up on a soft ground out.  Taylor scored on a sac fly by Scott Kingery.  After Worcester scored twice in the seventh inning, The IronPigs responded with one run in the bottom of the inning.  With two outs, Carlos De La Cruz walked, Hays singled, and Taylor walked to load the bases.  Kennedy walked to force in a run.  The IronPigs mounted a rally in the ninth.  Hall pinch hit for De La Cruz and singled with one out.  Jim Haley came in as a pinch runner.  Taylor was hit by a pitch with two outs.  After a delay during which Worcester’s manager was ejected, Kennedy walked to load the bases.  A strike out ended the threat and the game.

Buddy Kennedy went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 walks.

Austin Hays made a rehab start as the DH and led off.  He went 2-5 wit 2 strike outs.
