Box Score Recap (9/18/24)

Lehigh Valley won by walk off in the ninth inning.  The bullpen tossed four scoreless innings in relief.  Ethan Wilson hit a HR and the offense scored 3 runs in the ninth on one hit (an RBI single) and a collection of defensive miscues including a hit batter, passed ball, error, interference, and a wild pitch.


Lehigh Valley (32-37, 66-76, seventh in their division, 4 games remaining) Beat Worcester, 4-3.  Robinson Pina pitched five innings and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts.  Zach Haake pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit and walk and striking out one.  Andrew Bellatti pitched a scoreless inning walking one and striking out one.  Michael Mercado pitched a scoreless inning allowing one hit.  Max Lazar got the win pitching one scoreless inning striking out one.

The IronPigs rallied late scoring a run in the seventh inning on Ethan Wilson’s first HR at Triple-A, a solo shot, and 3 runs in the ninth.  Otto Kemp started the ninth inning by getting hit by a pitch.  He moved to second on a passed ball.  He scored on an RBI single by WilsonAramis Garcia reached on an error with Wilson safe at second.  Trevor Schweke loaded the bases on catcher’s interference (the catcher’s second of the game).  Wilson scored on a third strike wild pitch (the only out of the inning).  Garcia scored on a walk off passed ball.

Carson Taylor had 2 hits.  Ethan Wilson had 2 hits including a HR (1), 2 runs, 2 runs batted in, and an outfield assist at second base.
