Lehigh Valley lost on a bases-loaded walk in the eleventh inning. They got a solid seven innings from Tyler Phillips, a leadoff HR from Scott Kingery, and 3 hits and 2 RBI from Carlos De La Cruz. They also got some shaky bullpen support. Reading lost. Christian McGowan came off the injury list and started, Justin Crawford had 2 hits and both RBI.
Lehigh Valley (31-34, 65-73, seventh in their division, 8 games remaining) Lost on a walk off walk to Scranton, 6-5 in eleven innings. Tyler Phillips pitched seven strong innings and held Scranton to 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk. He struck out four and gave up a 2-run HR. Andrew Bellatti faced 3 batters and gave up one run on 3 hits. Dylan Covey stranded 2 inherited runners but then walked the bases loaded in the ninth. He was charged with a run on 4 walks. Freddy Tarnok stranded 2 of the 3 inherited runners and blew the save. He pitched an inning and allowed a hit and 2 walks. He struck out one. Tyler McKay survived the tenth but gave up the tying and winning runs in the eleventh. His line was 1.2 innings pitched, 2 hits, 2 runs, one ER, one walk, and 3 strikeouts.
The IronPigs scored first on a solo HR (24) by Scott Kingery leading off the first inning. They took the lead again with 3 runs in the sixth. Rafael Marchan walked and Darick Hall singled to start the inning. After a force out, Jim Haley plated 2 runs with a 2-run double. He scored on an RBI single by Carlos De La Cruz. After Scranton tied the game in the ninth, neither team scored in the tenth. The IronPigs scored in the eleventh when De La Cruz lined an RBI single that scored the unearned runner from third.

Charles King pitched 1.1 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits and a walk while striking out one. Cristian Hernandez pitched one inning and gave up a run on a hit and 2 walks. He struck out two and threw a wild pitch. Tommy McCollum pitched a scoreless inning striking out one. Andrew Baker pitched one inning allowing an unearned run on one hit. He struck out one and threw a wild pitch.
Reading closed to within 3-2 with 2 runs in the seventh inning. Jordan Dissin and Trent Farquhar opened the inning with walks. Cade Fergus was hit by a pitch. After a strike out, Justin Crawford hit a 2-run single. A double play ended the inning. Harrisburg extended their lead each of their next two at bats.

I think so, DeMartini will be 22 in December. I think you will see some (definitely not all) of the college guys drafted this year start at JS. It all depends on how the Phillies feel they are in their development.

AFL starts three weeks from Monday—-Oct 7th…..list should be officially released soon….maybe this week. Will be interesting to see how our prospects do in the 30- game season in the desert.
