  1. Carson DeMartini , 4th round pick, seems to be ticketed for third base. As a Hokie he put up some impressive power metrics in his last year, at the expense of plenty of swing and miss, but so far in pro ball he is getting back to contact….though SSS 88PAs, 14%-K rate. However, just maybe the Phillies have an unlikely gem at the hot corner going forward.

  2. Steve – K. Anthony has great BB/SO rates to go along with his fantastic hitting skills. Problem is, for now, he is listed as RF, 1B, and DH and his power numbers don’t register for those positions. Hopefully, his power will pick up.

    1. Maybe that may because 60% of his hits are from centerfield to right field, and he is a right handed batter….with 31%LD rate…..a very low FB% of 23%, and a GB% of 46%. He may have to put a little more extra lift into his swing approach. He is big enough and strong enough to incorporate that change.

  3. Story on the Inquirer that Painter is facing live batters and has hit 99 on the gun, FWIW. ONLY threw 15 pitches will go again Saturday to build his pitch count.
