So far, so good with the O’s trade of Soto to Baltimore for Johnson and Chase. Hope it becomes a nugget.
And Mavis Graves…..whoa….had plenty of rest prior to last night’s start, wonder if the season is getting too long for him now.

Watched the Tait HR from last night. I wasn’t aware how portly he is for a young fella.

The Big Dog needs to shed some lbs. before he balloons up too much.

On his MILB.com page he is listed as 175 pounds. He looks over 200 to me. Either the 175 was wrong or he added a lot of weight this season.

I took friends to the game Friday night. They were amazed he was only 17 years old at his size.

Little disappointed in the Phillies nutritional dept. ,,,,,no way in this world should a 17/18 year have gain this much weight….must be close to 220 lbs….circling around 2nd base looked like he needs a man- bra…..unless it is all muscle. I hope he does not end up like Sixto Sanchez did when it comes to conditioning.

Does anyone have scouting info for Gabriel Rincones Jr. defensively? I have to believe that he is a strong consideration for the AFL this year. If all goes well and he starts next year at AAA is it possible that he could be an every day RF soon?

He has only 28 ABs against LHP this year; the Phils seem to be developing him as a platoon bat.

Rincones played in the AFL last year. He acquitted himself quite well, .293/.889 with a slightly elevated K-rate but also a very high BB-rate. If he goes back this year, and I believe it likely, it’ll be because the injury cost him a lot of playing time. The Phillies think highly of him. Had he continued to impress and not gotten hurt, he would have been promoted early and possibly have been in Philadelphia this summer.
