I read he was injured with a minor leg injury but should be alright by the futures game

The Phillies do not report the injuries of players below Triple-A. When a player disappears from the starting lineup for more than what seems correct to us, we can usually assume that there is a minor problem that doesn’t require a trip to the injury list.
I think it safe to assume that Miller will be back in the lineup after the All-Star break. That would be July 19th for the affiliated teams. But, this is just an assumption on my part.

I think he has reached a career high in GP, surely he needs a break.

Honestly, I’ve never paid much attention to Emaarion Boyd. My knowledge of him was based on reports, good athlete, lots of stolen bases. I never paid attention because his stats were not eye popping aside from the stolen bases.
Something Keith Law wrote made me take a deeper look. He said … “elite athlete, plus raw power, great bat speed, below-average pitch recognition”
6′ 177 lbs with plus raw power? The he MUST have great bat speed!
I then looked at some of his swings and he really has an electric swing, the ball jumps off his bat.

He’s also trending upwards a bit … since the beginning of June he’s slashing .304/.360/.467/.827.
K rate has dropped from 19.8% (April/May) to 15.2% (June/July)
I will be paying closer attention to him moving forward.

Agree about Boyd. He seems to have very good bat speed and looks to be a very good defender. I always wondered why he isnt talked about more. Apparently remember reading about him also part of that leadership group they had down in Clearwater who were all about winning. Fingers crossed for him.

I think Boyd came along with Crawford. Whereas Crawford was drafted #1 and got big money, Boyd was drafted late and got a good offer so he signed. They were/are both CFers that I recall and Boyd was said to be the better defender.

Saltiban with another dinger tonight…this guy, for his size has good pop in his bat. He seems to have lots of potential.
