Box Score Recap (7/30/24)

Lehigh Valley and Mick Abel lost.  Reading walked off in the ninth.  Jersey Shore and Clearwater lost.  DSL Red won.  DSL White lost.

The Phillies traded #11 William Bergolla.  They acquired RHPs Seth Johnson and Moises Chace.   Johnson was assigned to Reading and inserted into the Phillies Top Thirty at #10.  Chace was assigned to Jersey Shore and inserted into the Phillies Top Thirty at #25.  Griff McGarry was bumped from #10 to #11.  #25 thru #29 each dropped a slot (Alexis De La Cruz, Robert Moore, Jalvin Arias, Jose Rodriguez, and Michael Mercado).  Nikau Pouaka-Grego dropped out of the Top Thirty.

Their first game in the Florida Bridge League will be held on Friday, weather permitting.

In a possible show of solidarity with the parent club, Lehigh Valley, Reading, Jersey Shore, and Clearwater all lost.  The DSL Phillies teams were not scheduled to play.  The FCL Phillies season is over.

The prospects covered below have been adjusted with the trade of Samuel Aldegheri and George KlassenJean Cabrera and Aroon Escobar have entered the top thirty, Cabrera at #15 and Escobar at #16.  Everyone behind them dropped 2 spots.

Their first game in the Florida Bridge League on Monday was cancelled.

Lehigh Valley lost.  Reading lost.  Jersey Shore won.  Clearwater lost.  The Threshers stole 8 bases in 8 attempts.  Starling Caba has 6 stolen bases in 6 attempts in 2 games.   The DSL Phillies Red won.  The DSL Phillies White won in eleven innings.  The FCL Phillies season is over.

Box Score Recap (7/25/24)

Lehigh Valley won behind 4 HRs, 2 by Scott Kingery.  Clearwater split a DH, Caba and Tait made their debuts.  Reading and Jersey Shore lost.  The FCL Phillies won their final game of the season.  The DSL Phillies White swept a DH from Phillies Red.

Nineteen draft picks and 4 UDFAs were at the Complex today.  A 5th UDFA has been signed.

Box Score Recap (7/24/24)

More solid pitching last night.  Lehigh won and Mick Abel had his best five innings in a while.  Reading won as Matt Osterberg tossed five solid innings for the team’s second shutout in as many nights.  Jersey Shore got five solid innings from Luke Russo.  The relievers pitched well too as they only gave up one run in a combined 12 innings.  Clearwater was suspended in the third.  Jordan Fowler had thrown two shutout innings.  Starling Caba had an auspicious debut.  FCL and the DSL teams were off.

Nineteen draft picks have signed.  They’ll be in Clearwater Thursday.  The tracker has been updated with the bonus information for the top ten picks.

Box Score Recap (7/23/24)

Lehigh Valley lost but Kolby Allard pitched effectively.  Reading won by shutout behind a strong effort by Lachlan Wells.  Jersey Shore won as Casey Steward pitched well but didn’t get the decision.  The BlueClaws walked off in ten.  Clearwater didn’t lose because they were rained out.  Starlyn Caba was set to lead off.  The FCL Phillies won but lost on Monday and were eliminated from the playoffs.  Both DSL teams won.

Seventeen draft picks have signed.  They’ll be in Clearwater shortly.

Box Score Recap (7/21/24)

Only the affiliated teams played on Sunday.  Lehigh Valley won with 3 HR, Reading won with solid pitching, and Jersey Shore won in ten with after a ninth-inning rally.  Clearwater found a way to lose after rallying back from a 4-run deficit in the Rixon Wingrove revenge series.
