  1. Good for Ferrebus to come to the states, I don’t recall that midseason move happening often.
Graves might be ready for a move to the Shore.
I was at the Jersey Shore game last night. I really picked a stinker. Neither Crawford nor Miller hit anything hard. Boyd misplayed a routine fly ball down the line into a double (never touched it). Pipkin, on a rehab, displayed his strong arm hitting 97/98. He’ll be back to Reading soon. Brito hit a line single to right that the RF dove forward for but the ball bounced past him. Brito circled on the play but would have been out at the plate but the catcher dropped the ball. Miller looked fine at SS but couldn’t handle one hard smash up the middle, when the ball bounced off his glove into CF scoring a run from 2b.

  2. FCL team has now listed six catchers on its roster…Tait, Rosario, Mendez, Rondon, Perez and now Ferrebus. Have to think one or two may get the promo call to CLW. Also Perez still continues to hit, but sees no action behind the plate-now he is 1B or DH…..latest photo shows he is pretty hefty/stout, definitely not 175 lbs as listed.

  3. Junior Marin hit his 3rd home run … I didn’t know much about this guy, so here is what I found

Acquired from Royals for P James McArthur, after McArthur was designated for assignment.

From a Royals fan page, he was listed as a prospect to watch:  Outfielder Junior Marin is by far my favorite prospect in the ACL and DSL. The 17-year-old terrorized DSL pitching, slashing .380/.469/.696 (in 111 at-bats)  with seven home runs, 32 RBI, and carried an insane 1.164 OPS. He also sports all the advanced statistics you want to see, including a meager 17.1% strikeout rate, 14.4% walk rate (16 BB vs 19 K), 205 wRC+, and .315 ISO. Those are insanely impressive numbers. The power seems like it is legit. If that hit tool translates when he comes stateside, we can expect Marin to sky rocket.  What also impresses me about Marin is his size. At 17, he comes in at 6’2/220 lbs. I can only imagine he is going to grow. The only concern is that he eventually outgrows the outfield, and they will have to find a new position for him.

At age 19, prior to the trade, he started in the ACL and slashed .315/.379/.413 with K rate jumping to 30%

    This year, at age 20, in SSS of 66 at-bats, he’s slashed .293/.364/.448 with a K rate of 16.7%

In an article I saw about the trade, he was defined as a lottery ticket – seems like a good description!

Also, he is a LARGE human being!  Now listed as 6’2, 240 lbs at MILB.com.

If baseball doesn’t workout for these current FCL players, maybe football could be in their future!

    1. Its cool and appreciated that you brought all of that to our attention and now I will keep an eye out to see if he gets stateside.

Generally though I don’t pay attention to anyone until they get up to CLW. The competition is so watered down in those leagues.

    1. Looks like Keaton Anthony is yet another 1B/DH type guy.

They will both have to rake to make the Phillies move on from Schwarber after 2025.

  5. Jersey Shore really got thrashed by a bad hitting team this week. Pitchers all got hit and the hitters didn’t hit. Terrible week.
