Pineda is quietly having a terrific year. He was terrific last year also for a stretch before he cooled off. If he stays hot, he’s a legit prospect.
Aldegheri with a great start. A very nice bounce back for him. He could be moving up soon too.

Pineda is 22 at JS which is probably at the limit of being a legit prospect, but he’s played in 177 games at JS which is a crazy amount. He needs to get moved up ASAP.

Jim, love your write ups. Been a phils fan since the Whiz Kids of 1950 and even ordered the minor league package when the Hoss and Cousins were the Bash brothers with the Reading (my home town) Fightins. It’s a lot of fun tracking the prospects.

Martin, did I see you at the game last night?

Aldegheri is a really good prospect. The strikeout and hit rates are outstanding and the “stuff” is very impressive too – these aren’t smoke and mirrors type stats you often see in the minors.
I’m very tempted to put him into our top 10. I would suspect he will soon get a promotion. Very interested to see what he can do in AA – that’s where the better pitching prospect separate themselves from the pack.

And remember when people were panicking here about Tait? Well, his OPS in June thus far is 1.107. I think he’ll be alright. Call me crazy, but I think our next great Latin American position prospect (and best since Juan Samuel) is in the system now – and there may be more than one. I suspect J.T. ultimate replacement is in the system now too.

they are all so young, but very exciting at the same time. Better than the past when they were young and not very exciting!
With Tait, Pineda, Caba, Escobar, Rosario (who am i missing? won’t count Ferrebus at this point) – I don’t recall a time with so many players who performing this well at the onset.
We are DUE to hit on at least one, right???

You would think, although 40 years of experience have taught us otherwise. Still, yes, I think this whole system is in a process of renewal and I sense way better things are on the horizon for our international prospects. Time for our Juan Soto/Ronald Acuna/Fernando Tatis, Jr./Andruw Jones.

Maybe I forgot Yemal Flores, our biggest money signing in 2021. Just hasn’t been able to gain any traction. Guessing he was injured last year, only had 39 ABs with a .930 OPS
SSS this year, but hit is 4th HR today in his 40th at bat – hitting .350 with an OPS of 1.188

Per the radar gun … if that 1st pitch was his FB, it came in at 93mph. Not sure how accurate that is, looked faster to me.

From the videos i’ve seen of him, I think he’s probably on the harder side to pick up, making his stuff play up a bit.
Can’t tell a whole lot from the highlights, so anyone who has seen him in person have any feedback?

MLB Top 30 prospects says he can can hit 95mph, & when he’s going good, hes sitting in the 92-94mph range. I agree with Guru, looks like his mechanics make the ball pop a bit.

Looks like there is some measure of deception in his delivery, and if he’s throwing 93-94, that’s plenty good enough for a LH pitcher with his offspeed pitches. He will definitely end the year in Reading.

Was looking forward to going to Lakewood for tonight’s game. Unfortunately the forecast is calling for thunderstorms. I hate to drive 75 minutes (each way) and have the game called. Ugh!
