Lehigh Valley (28-35) beat Syracuse, 5-3.  Ricardo Pinto pitched six innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk.  Tyler Gilbert pitched a scoreless, 1-2-3 inning striking out two.  Yunior Marte pitched a scoreless inning allowing 2 hits.  Max Lazar pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit.  

The IronPigs scored a run in the fourth inning on a solo HR (5) by Simon Muzziotti.  They tied the game with 2 runs in the sixth on a 2-run double by Buddy Kennedy.  They went ahead with 2 runs in the eighth on an RBI force out by Jim Haley and an RBI single by Cal Stevenson.

Reading (25-34) lost to Portland, 5-4.  Lachlan Wells pitched six innings and gave up 4 runs on 8 hits.  He walked none and struck out two.  Tristan Garnett pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit and striking out three.  Tommy McCollum pitched one inning and gave up a run on 2 hits.  He struck out two.  Matt Russell pitched a scoreless, 1-2-3 inning.

Reading scored a run in the first inning on an RBI ground out by Caleb Rickets.  They tied the game with a run in the second on an RBI single by Ethan Wilson.  They closed within a run with 2 runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Ricketts and an RBI double by Otto Kemp.

Jersey Shore (33-26) lost to Wilmington, 7-2.  Jean Cabrera pitched 6.1 innings and gave up 4 runs on 3 hits, a walk. and a hit batter.  He struck out fourteen.  Trey Dillard allowed 2 inherited runners to score and pitched 1.1innigs giving up an additional 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks.  Mason Ronan stranded an inherited runner and pitched 1.1 innings allowing a hit, walk, and 2 Ks.

Emaarion Boyd got the BlueClaws only hit in the fifth inning.  They drew 9 walks but went 0-12 with RISP.  They scored their only runs in the ninth with nobody out.  After two walks to start the inning they both came home on a throwing error by the pitcher.

Clearwater (36-23) lost to Tampa, 7-6.  Micah Ottenbreit pitched four innings and gave up 5 runs on 8 hits, a walk, and a hit batter.  He struck out seven.  Josh Bortka pitched two innings and gave up 2 runs on a hit and walk.  He struck out three.  Luis Avila pitched two scoreless innings walking one and striking out one.  Jonathan Petit pitched a scoreless, 1-2-3 inning striking out three.

The Threshers scored a run in the second inning on a wild pitch.  They scored a run in the fourth on a sac fly by Raylin Heredia.  They rallied with 2 runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Pierce Bennett and a sac fly by Jordan Viars and 2 runs in the eighth on a solo HR (3) by Keaton Anthony and an RBI single by Bryson Ware.

    1. Every single one an off speed pitch. Not to rain on the parade, but you’d like to see hitters swinging through some heat (like you see with Klassen). Still, it’s a nice development.
