  1. Castellano (after 3 runs allowed in 1st) shut things down. That’s impressive.
it’s very good to see Jersey Shore and CWater winning since the two higher level teams just keep losing with little talent. Abel wasn’t good again but the weather certainly could have effected him (he’s from Washington state though…).

    1. I wonder what was his pitch count when the velo started to decline…..from a Fan’s View: “…..100 pitches – 58 strikes – 56 four seamers (93 to 97 mph), 17 sinkers (93-96 mph), 12 sliders, 7 change ups and 8 curve balls….”.

        1. 4th and 5th innings virtually all 4Smr FBs to the Mets’ hitters.

Assume they may be prepping him for a call-up later this year….first time thru the lineup he mixed up all his stuff, second time looked like all 4Smr FBs. These hitters are pretty experienced so he needed to be a little savvy. There was that decline in velo as you mention, just not sure if it was intentional on his part in favor of more command.

    2. What I suggest is that the first three innings he could be relying mostly on 4Smrs, and then the last few innings sinkers and breaking stuff. It would be helpful to know what his usage was by inning.

      1. Spencer Howard – doing terribly at AAA in his first 7 starts this year. Must still be the Phillies’ fault
