FCL Phillies (2-1) beat the FCL Yankees, 4-3 in 7 innings. The Phillies scored a run in the first inning. Starlyn Caba led off with a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a fly out, and scored on a sac fly by Eduardo Tait. They fell behind by a run in the fourth, but took the lead with 3 runs in the sixth. Guillermo Rosario was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jerffson Pena walked. Rickardo Perez loaded the bases with an infield single deflected by the pitcher. Ezra Farmer walked, forcing in the tying run. The Phillies took the lead on 2-run, ground-rule double by A.J. Shaver.
Maxwell Hernandez started and pitched 4.0 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits, 4 walks, and 2 HBP. He struck out four. Adilson Peralta got the win with 2.0 innings pitched allowing one hit and striking out two. Josbel Garcia was awarded the save. He allowed a run on 2 hits, one a HR, and struck out two in 1.0 inning.

Lehigh Valley (12-19) lost to Syracuse, 18-3. The IronPigs were 9-9 the last time a did a recap. The Mets needed only 13 hits to score their 18 runs. David Parkinson (5.27) took the loss but only gave up 2 runs in 4.0 innings on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out four. Tyler McKay (5.68) followed and pitched one inning allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, only one of which was earned, no walks, and struck out one. Then it hit the fan. Trailing 4-1, Kolby Allard (10.71) pitched a 1-2-3 sixth. But, he imploded in the 14-run seventh with a lot of help from Andrew Bellatti (11.17) and an assist from Taylor Lehman (3.18). In 1.1 innings Allard gave up 7 ER on 4 hits (including a GS HR) and 3 walks. Bellatti entered with no inherited runners and lasted 0.1 innings surrendering 6 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks. He also hit a batter and threw a wild pitch. Lehman allowed both inherited runners to score plus one of his own in 1.1 innings on 2 hits and a walk. He did record a K. Transactions – The Phillies acquired former farm hand LHP Tyler Gilbert from the Reds. Gilbert was a 6th round pick out of USC by the Phillies in 2015, 174th overall. He was traded to the Dodgers in February 2020 for OF Kyle Garlick. Gilbert was selected by Arizona during the 2020 Rule 5 Draft. He had reasonably good numbers as he progressed through the Phillies organization. He had a moderately successful first MLB season with Arizona in 2021, but not quite as successful the past two years. Garlick had 22 plate appearances with the Phillies. He was optioned and recalled 4 times during the abbreviated season before ending up on the Injury List. He was designated in January 2021 and claimed by Atlanta who lost him to Minnesota when they tried to designate him in February. Garlick had an uneventful 3 seasons in the Twins organization where he got 299 plate appearances over three seasons. He elected free agency after the 2023 season and is currently with the Reno Aces in the Arizona organization.
