Gueller. Assuming he is injury free he has the stuff to be a major league pitcher and the early results are an indication of him being really raw. Not a top prospect but appropriate for the end of a top 30.
Hear the fastball is has lost some zip. It happens sometimes. Given that, and the lack of other pitches and command, I’d recommend giving him some reps in the field on off days so those hitting skills don’t deteriorate all together (he was an early round prospect with the bat too). If the fastball isn’t back up by mid-season I’d switch him to the field full-time.
Every time I looked at Guellers box score he was getting lit up and not striking anyone out. I know there’s time for improvement but I’m very skeptical. I voted Lino
I don’t think either Gueller or Lino have done much of anything during their time in the system to merit inclusion on this list, so by process of elimination, I guess it’s Hiciano. All hail Mr. Irrelevant!
I went Lino again. I have been since #22. He seemed to hit a barrier at Lakewood but I think his Winter League performance tells me he’s over that. I think we’ll be talking a lot more about Lino this season. Gueller has been a bust so far. Over two professional seasons he has an ERA over 5.5 and a WHIP over 1.7. Ks have not been there. He looks like he’ll start in short season ball once again. I’m not giving him the Jiwan pass yet. I like Hiciano. He’s #27 on my list so he could go here. I like the in-game power. It’s Lino because he’s higher on my list.
I’m not sure what to make of Lino. I liked him two years ago but last year was a disappointment and it seems like he’s being swallowed up by the catchers we drafted last year. He did alright as a young guy in A-ball the year we got him, then last year in a lower level his K rate went up and the BB rate went down. All of a sudden, he’ll be a 21 year old in Lakewood, a year behind the expected prospect development path instead of a year in front.
I am with you.
Plus the fact, which is also puzzling, there are national pundits/experts who are high on his potetial. He does have the physical tools for sure, strong arm, good size with good power stroke, but the rest of his peripherals suffered last year.
No hesitation here. Hiciano.

I’ll admit it, I’ve been voting for Hiciano because my dog’s name is Sam. Won’t stop me from doing it again, tho.

Voted for Hiciano because he is one if my favorite prospects but truth be told, at this point Guellar is probably a better prospect.
