I’ll go Watson here. He would of been much higher if healthy. At this point, I’ll hold out hope that he can get back close to where he was. Hopefully, we see him at some point this year
Pujols here, then Mecias. I think it really drops off after that, though you could convince me that Cam Perkins, Jan Hernandez and Shane Watson aren’t that big a drop-off, I suppose.
I really should go Mecias here, since I don’t think his surgery will turn out to be a big deal, apart from lost time. However, hard to vote for a guy who will likely miss most of the season. Jan Hernandez is a favorite from the draft, I absolutely cheered when that pick was posted. I’m not at all convinced that he can remain at SS, but should be able to handle 3B. If he can stay at SS, he actually should be higher up the list.
Like a weathervane, I’m going to swing here from Sweaney to Pujols, based on BA’s favorable writeup. Still a sucker for power hitters. That 80 ranking on the raw power, though probably fanciful, is really exciting. I’ve already got Williamsport’s July weekend series against my hometown Brooklyn Cyclones circled on my calendar.
It may not be 80, but it is a legit 70. It is monstrous raw power and it was still present when he made a switch over from a more uppercut swing to a more level swing midway through the season. The thing is, he still is really skinny with a ton of projection left. Contact will always be the question
Geez I voted for LE so many times, I have no idea who to finally vote for now that he FINALLY got slotted……..once again I go for a high ceiling guy and go with Pujols.
I dont have him in my top 30, he is just outside it for me, but you are right, he is certainly a candidate for a big breakout. As the list looks now, i have perkins and canelo definitely ahead of him, and i think sweaney, hernandez, and pujols all have higher upside. Plus a few higher ranked pitchers like the injured watson and mecias, and relievers that could move fast like childs and munson.
Time for walding

Going with Watson here.
He was considered a steal when he was drafted.
He had a shoulder surgery, which is troubling for a starter.
However, if he rehabs well, he still has a ton of potential and I don’t think he should fall this far on the list.

I went with Mecias. He seems to have a pretty good ceiling, and even though he’s hurt, it’s probably not as serious an injury as Watson’s.

Samuel Hiciano seems to be the best uninjured player left. I am awaiting a big year from him. He seems ready to break through this year.

Pullin needs more love…spent the year leaning a new position and still hit fairly well. Reports are that he’s become a more than adequate 2B.

big healthy year for walding, 6’4″ with a sweet lefty swing, and has turned into a gold glove 3rd baseman
