I just wanted to give all of you an update on what to expect from the site during the off season. At seasons end, I will be putting out a report card on each player in the organization. It will go position by position and will take us through September into early October and will hopefully kick start some good conversation. October will bring the beginning of Arizona Fall league coverage which will flow into late November and be covered by Brad, who has done a great job with box scores and thoughtful commentary throughout the year.
In November, along with AFL coverage, there will be a feature on the 40 man roster and the decisions facing the Phils in that regard. Rule 5 draft coverage will occur in early December after the 40 man is finalized. The week after the 40 man roster is announced, we will kick start the Reader Top 30 prospect poll, which should take us well into January.
Late January and February will bring the Phuture Phillies Top 30 as well as minor league roster projections.
Finally, in March, Spring Training coverage. Of course, we will continue to provide all the minor league information as it happens throughout the Winter. Several player interviews are planned as well.
Thank you all for your support this baseball season. From opening day through today we have had in excess of 1,250,000 site hits and it is through the continued show of interest in the site and the Phillies minor league system, comes the willingness to keep the site going.
Looking forward to the coming months Gregg. Thanks in advance

What a unique and great job you have been doing. Anybody who is a Phillies fan of long endurance and those of short term familiarity owe you much for allowing we posters to find lights in the dark halls of the minors.
Thank you for your energy and time given to OUR pleasure and information.

I want to thank you guys very much. I live in SC. I only get to see Lakewood when they go to Greenville or Asheville, or when Lehigh Valley goes to Charlotte, NC. I visit your site everyday. Thank you for keeping me up on the entire system. You are doing a great job.

Thanks to everyone for the thoughtful comments…Honestly, it is comments like those above that keep this going in light of the comment board chaos that occurs at times.

This site is in fantastic hands! And to think there were a few days earlier this year where I thought it was gone forever …
The top 30 this season will be bananas.

+1 on that. Between prospects who have emerged (Ruf, Asche), have emerged after slow starts (Franco) and made solid professional debuts (too many to name on WPT and GCL), it’s going to be really interesting doing the rankings. Hell, I plan on sitting back with some popcorn and enjoying the Ruf debates.

This may not really sound like a compliment, but believe me it is: It’s almost unnoticeable that the site is Under New Management. Gregg and Brad and any of the others working on the site have done a phenomenal job.

Thanks for all your hard work, guys.
Question: for the “Phuture Phillies Top 30” will you both do one, or will you be collaborating on a single one?

Gregg–you guys did a fantastic job taking over for FTN. This is the best team prospect site in the world. You should be very proud of that!

Hey, I realize I am just echoing many others, but I am so grateful that this site has continued–and, in many ways, improved–under it’s new management. For one thing, it’s nice to feel like the guys running the site actually appreciate the readers. If there’s one thing I could suggest–and I realize it’s a draw on the time of others–but it might be interesting to do little season in review posts for 5-10 of our most intriguing prospects. Like, break down Cody Asche’s year, and let everyone bat it around–is he a top prospect or not? (Seems like he’s still getting no organizational respect from the Mike Drago list today) . Anyway, thought it might be an interesting way to break up the offseason prior to the top 30, rather than going position by position. Ultimately, there are only 5 or 1 truly interesting prospects to debate anyway.

Typo, meant to say 5-10 interesting prospects, and I should say interesting is not the same thing as “top” or “most heralded”. Like, I’d be much more interested in talking about Cozens or Colvin than I would be in talking about Jesse Biddle, who everyone agrees is our top or close to top prospect at this point.

Echoing and Amplifying the Gratitude to everyone, especially Greg and Brad, for continuing this INCREDIBLE website!
I do not know if posters (sometimes for me) and readers (always!) truly understand how great this site truly is. Many more ‘blogs’ have come along, includes some good ones, but this one remains almost a perfect blend of information, entertainment, and dialogue. OUTSTANDING!
Oh, and on to the other reason I wanted to reply to this post…
I love the organizational rundowns posted throughout the year and recommend a similar format for the end of season roundup.
Not to add more work but I was wondering if someone coiuld include some lesser known names (that might not even have any results to get a report card grade) such as those who were on the DL or in Extended Spring Training or where just highly rated signings.
One other Topic that is of interest to me is the formation of the 40-man roster prior to the Rule5 draft. It always requires some tough decisions. Sometimes it is difficult to know who is eligible, especially the international guys.
Once again, thanks so much. I look forward to all the interesting topics and lines of dicussion throughout the offseason.

Um, yeah, 40-man topic already in there. Must of missed it upon initial reading. As always you guys are way ahead of me. Thanks.
