A look at rotation in the lower parts of the organization. Note with Williamsport and GCL, the rotations are often changing these days with innings limitations and the like. I tried to put out there those who have been consistently starting or those who have just moved into the rotation.
Lakewood
DL: Ethan Stewart, 21, Phils 47th round pick in 2010
Ervis Manzanillo, 21, SIgned as a free agent in 2009
Williamsport
Josh Warner, 19, Signed as a free agent in 2010; 13 starts between Lakewood and WIlliamsport; 3-5 with a 4.50 ERA; 68IP 76H 25BB 48K; 5 HR allowed; 0.95 GO/AO; .276 opp. avg., 3.3BB/6.4K per nine; 1-5 with a 5.66 ERA in 9 starts since July 1. Warner has struggled as of late after several good starts early on for WIlliamsport.
Ulises Joaquin, 20, Signed as a free agent in 2009; 9 games (6 starts); 1-2 with a 3.15 ERA; 34.1IP 32H 14BB 32K; 3.7BB/8.5K per nine; 1.15 GO/AO; .239 opp. avg., .255 vs. LH, .238 vs. RH, .263 with RISP. Joaquin has thrown well and is on his way to earning himself a rotation spot in Lakewood next year.
Kevin Brady, 21, Phils 10th round pick in the 2012 draft; 8 games (6 starts) between GCL and Williamsport; 2-2 with a 1.78 ERA; 25.1IP 21H 4BB 34K; 0.60 GO/AO; .228 opp. avg., 1.4BB/120.0 K per nine. Brady is out of his league at this level, but the Phils are most likely trying to limit the innings of the Clemson product.
Jeb Stefan, 22, Phils 22nd round pick in the 2012 draft; 18 games (2 starts); 1-2 with a 3.67 ERA; 2 saves; 27IP 31H 12BB 20K; 1.00 GO/AO; .284 opp. avg., .313 vs. LH, .262 vs. RH, .229 with RISP; 4.0BB/6.7K per nine. Stefan just moved into the rotation last week.
GCL
Franklyn Vargas, 17, Signed as a free agent in 2010; 10 games (9 starts) 4-3 with a 5.21 ERA; 38IP 35H 22BB 39K; 1.62 GO/AO; .248 opp. avg., 1 HR allowed; .346 vs. LH, .226 vs. RH, .204 with RISP. 5.2BB/9.1K per nine. Nothing to be ashamed up for the 17 year old. Obvious area of weakness is deception vs. Lefties.
Ranfi Casimiro, 20, SIgned as a free agent in 2010; 10 games (7 starts); 3-2 with a 3.49 ERA; 38.2IP 36H 14BB 28K; 1.10 GO/AO; .252 opp. avg; 1 HR allowed; 3.2BB/6.5K per nine; .268 vs. LH, .245 vs. RH, .270 with RISP.
Mitch Guellar, 18, Phils 1st round pick in 2012; 7 games (5 starts); 1-4 with a 4.88 ERA; 24IP 22H 8BB 13K; 1.38 GO/AO; .247 opp. avg., 2.7 BB/4.3K per nine. Not the dominant start many hoped for but no reason for concern at this early stage.
Shane Watson, 19, Phils 1st round pick in 2012; 4 games (2 starts); 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 5 IP.
Jesen Dygesstile Therrien, 19, Phils 17th round pick in 2011; 11 games (4 starts); 0-4 with a 2.79 ERA; 38.2IP 34H 17BB 34K;1.60 GO/AO; .233 opp. avg., 3.9BB/7.9 K per Nine; .265 vs. LH, .200 vs. RH, .265 with RISP. Has pitched very well and could be a good find.
[quibble] JDT was a 17th round pick in 2011, not free agent. [/quibble]

I assume you mean he’s better than his competition with this statement. Usually when I hear the phrase “out of his league” it means he’s not good enough for the league he’s in, and Brady has been dominant thus far.
Thanks for compiling this list.
