Trevor May gave up only 2 hits in 6 IP.  Sure, they were both HR, but still.  Jiwan is now 2 for 3 in 4 of his last 7 games.  Nice little run.  And Ervis with a good one for Lakewood.   Nice to see.

Box Score Recap 6-14-2012

Hewitt hit 2 HR, Asche was 5 for 5, Hyatt struck out 9 in 5 1/3.  But the news of the day has to be that Dom Brown left the game after he “tweaked his knee” (quote from Sandberg).  Brown will see a doctor tomorrow, according to a tweet from Michael Lore from The Easton Express-Times, or “the Easton paper”, as my Grammy used to call it.

Hot or Not

So Tim Kennelly seems to have taken to the leadoff spot in Reading this week in Tyson Gillies absence….

—The typical Lakewood candidates on the not hot hitting list.

–The list of ajectives used to describe the year that Tyler CLoyd is having is getting overused, however he has been consistently excellent.

–After a half dozen relief appearances, Brody Colvin got the start on Tuesday and re-appears on the Hot list giving up just one earned on two hits in six innings. Continue reading Hot or Not

Lehigh Valley Weekly Report

The ‘Pigs wrapped up their series in Syracuse having taken three out of four from the Chiefs (they were rained out this morning), and now stand at 37-27,2.5 games behind division leading Pawtucket in the Northern Division of the International League. Kratz rhymes with Bats.  It all makes sense now…  Also, a big wow for Tim Kennelly.  On the prospect front, Brown, Asche and Franco all had 2 hits, and one of Franco’s was his sixth HR of the year.  JRod had a pretty nice line, Biddle not so much.
