Box Score Recap 5-22-2012

Since a very bad outing on April 19, Jesse Biddle’s WHIP is 1.03.  Hope the graphic works better for you all.  I believe I figured out what I was doing to make it so blurry and fixed it.

  1. Back in 2008, I had Mike Cisco as my 12th ranked prospect – that was after he threw down a 30:0 K:BB ration at Lakewood. The guy has had great numbers all throughout the minors. I wonder when he’ll get on the Phillies radar

    1. Cisco would fit nicely into the long reliever spot. But who the hell knows what the management is thinking (or not)

  2. Did anyone have eyes on May last night? Not quite the line you want to see after what we witnessed from Doc last night.

    1. Agreed, I’d be interested to hear from anyone what happened with May last night.

  3. Biddle is looking much better now that his BABIP against has normalized. A 20-year-old pitching well in the FSL with a strong K-rate is very encouraging. Let’s hope he keeps it up.

    1. Good to see Biddle rebound.

Is Brown hurt again or are they just easing him back in? It’d be nice if he could get consistent reps in LF.

    1. Last year sometimes PP would just post the links to each games box scores. I found that better then the image because you could click on a player for more in depth look. I usual go to each teams respective site then come here to read the comments.

Thanks for keeping the site going. While my girlfriend isn’t happy with my nightly routine of checking all the box scores and coming here. I sure am…

    2. I can’t figure why it would be blurrier today than yesterday. On my PC and on my iPhone it’s much more clear than it had been.

Would the links everyday help you out? I don’t mind adding them.

  5. Servino Gonzalez had two good outings. The 19 year old righty in 12 IP has 17Ks and 1 BB. Last year, he had 29Ks and 3 BBs in 46 IP. He relieved last year and is starting this year. Someone to keep an eye on. It’s also nice to see 8 guys in the VSL lineup hitting over .300. Carlos Duran the 18 year old OF’er, is hitting .308 and he had another assist yesterday. That’s 3 in 8 games.

    1. Extended Spring Training. Short Season hasn’t started yet. He would be ludicrously overmatched in Lakewood.

      1. yet, jackie bradley jr, (the guy taken right after greene) is killing it in the minors and getting tons of praise from scouts.

        frustrating

  7. Since the box scores don’t list it on the pitching side, May gave up two home runs (one a slam) and four doubles.

  8. Eldemire and Co. in Lakewood have certainly cratered, here’s hoping for a turn around there

    1. Franco has actually been better his last 10 games. Still not like his start but he’s stopped the freefall.

  10. Austin Wright left the game after just 2 innings and he wasn’t getting hit real hard. Seems like an injury.
