Or whatever version we’re on. I have to have my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow. So I plan on ingesting quite a few pills and sleeping for 3-4 days, hence my absence here. If any of the contributors here want to put a post up discussing spring training info or anything else, feel free, but I probably won’t be checking in until sometime next week. Thanks.

Here’s a tip.
Whoever is taking you the surgeon, make sure they get you prescription filled while you are under the knife. Get the prescription before you go under so they can call it in and the happy pills are ready and waiting on the way home.
I had to wait 6 hours for my drugs, partly because my mother was “running errands” instead of bringing my meds back. All 4 at once, that was pure hell.

Best of luck with the teeth, James. I had mine yanked back in the college days (damn, was it really 16 years ago?), and had a nice, percocet-aided weekend and listened to a lot of Pink Floyd and Gabriel-era Genesis.
And I’ll be taking advantage of my new correspondent status to post some reports on the two Spring Training games I’m going this week. I’m hoping I get to see the prospects gets some quality playing time.

good luck, it’s not fun. I threw up a lot, but thankfully don’t remember much due to the heavy dosages of drugs.
Hopefully you’ll have a better experience than I did.

I had all 4 out at once and was playing Guitar Hero with friends a few hours after I got home. Was on heavy duty pain meds for about 2 days, then dropped to Advil for a day and was fine. Good luck with yours.

You can post on PP while on percecet…hell I am right now…though mine is for a major back injury, not wisdom teeth (that sucked).

Don’t let all the horror stories worry you too much– I got all 4 out and never even had to take my pain meds. I think I still have them.
I was eating Cambles chunky soup the minute I got taste back and went camping the next day.

I had mine yanked one day before a hurricane hit. You can only eat soup and other easy to eat foods, and I had no electricity for four days. I learned to open my mouth wide in spite of the pain to eat real food. It was either that or starve.

Good luck, James. It took me a couple days to get back to 100%, but I know some who have bounced back in a day or less. Hope you’re in the latter group!

Just remember – if you think you have dry socket, take a tylenol – do not ask for clove oil unless you are dying of pain. That stuff tastes like christmas…24/7, its sickening (literally).

I woke up during the procedure to feel the sensation of teeth being cracked out of my jaw. Its the only time in my life I wished to die. But good luck! hehe.

I lost my mouth in a motorcycle accident, I have to insert food directly into my stomach through a revolving door.
