I’ve been trying to crank out these profiles, but always seem to get distracted. I did a few recently where I didn’t have as much info as I’d like, but I still want every legit prospect to have a profile page. Here are the newest entries
Antonio Bastardo, Darren Byrd, Alex Concepcion, Heitor Correa, Andrew Cruse (with video)
As always, if you have any articles, pictures or info on these or any other prospects, please share it so I can add it to their respective pages. You can find the profiles on the left side of the site under the “Players” heading, and each player has or will have his own profile. If you look to the left and see a legit prospect who doesn’t have his own player heading yet, please let me know, as I don’t want to overlook anyone. Thanks.
Have you heard any news about Catcher Joel Naughton or Infielder Alan Schoenberger at ST yet?

How about Brian Schlitter. This is from MiLB.com at:

‘Lasting Impression
Right-hander Brian Schlitter may not be at the top of most Phillies’ prospect lists, but he was the first one that Noworyta wanted to talk about.
The 16th-round pick in 2007 out of the College of Charleston (the school that coincidentally produced Tuesday’s Five Question subject, Yankees outfield prospect Brett Gardner) has one of the best fastballs of any of the pitchers selected by Philadelphia last year, a heater regularly clocked in the mid-90s.
After tossing one game at Williamsport, he moved up to Class A Lakewood. There he saw time in both relief and starting roles, posting a 3.80 ERA in 16 games and striking out 21 while walking six in 23 2/3 innings.
Listed in different places at 6-foot-5 or 6-6 and 220 or 230 pounds, he’s a big boy. And that was the Phillies’ major concern. But once they let him know that, he apparently made big (or smaller) strides.
The Brian Schlitter who arrived in Clearwater when Minor League pitchers and catchers reported was the Brian Schlitter Noworyta and company had been hoping to see.
While it’s still very early in Minor League camp, the club’s hopes for his 2008 campaign are high.
“Even though it’s early, he’s really opened some people’s eyes already just to see the work ethic he put in this offseason,” Noworyta said. “If he does what we think he can, it will be an exciting camp for him. And to see what he did when he came to camp here was impressive. I was very proud of what I saw.”‘
