We finish the week with #23, and we’re winding down now. When we finish the Top 30, I’ll give you my Top 30 without any thought or analysis, just my gut feeling. I’m still working on my evaluation system, and it will take a while to finish, but it will be a good point of discussion once it’s complete. Anyway, on to #23
01. Carrasco
02. Cardenas
03. Savery
04. Costanzo
05. Outman
06. Carpenter
07. Marson
08. Donald
09. Drabek
10. Happ
11. Harman
12. Golson
13. Jaramillo
14. E Garcia
15. Brown
16. Bastardo
17. Bisenius
18. Berry
19. Myers
20. d’Arnaud
21. Naylor
22. Galvis
And here’s a reminder for the eligibilty
For the purpose of this poll, consider “eligibility” to be less than 50 AB/25 games for a position player, and less than 25 IP/20 games as a pitcher.
So, here is where a few other guys stand
Mathieson: 37 IP. Not eligible
Zagurski: 25 G. Not eligible
Heitor Correa, he’s young, he improved markedly over last year and he’s from Brazil so he probably didn’t receive the best instruction early on so there should be a lot of room for improvement.

Correa, Bolt , and then Diekman. Reading the article on Bolt is certainly disappointing, but I still think he’s a prospect. Someone told me y’day that 6 months of his 2 yrs is already up, that it started when he was commissioned. Some guys spend more time on the DL. Do you think we’ll see him at Spring Training? Cuz I thought he wasn’t supoosed to even go to FIL? We can both buy his old man a beer.
I too hope they keep this kid out of Harm’s Way.

Diekman the big southpaw fits in well at this spot.
Apparently Javon Moran has no fans. Funny how 25 years old is over-the-hill for prospects. I just think Moran is a late bloomer, that’s all. And I don’t think 25 is too late to start an MLB career.

Bolt just made the Baseball America Report Card as most intriguing background (non baseball). Don’t know what that means. Can he kill with baling wire?
He gets my vote because I think we need some bigger sticks in the line up in the next few years. He hit 8 HR’s and 4 Triples (speed?) during the GCL, and I thought that wasn’t supposed to be a hitter’s league? I think I read here (Alex?) that he hit well in FIL?

It looks like it might be Correa’s day, but I’m still backing Mattair. At the very least, can we start calling him “Chick” Correa?
What’s the deal with Bolt? I feel like I missed an article or something. Is he being sent to Iraq?

Hello, everyone.
Can anyone comment on the Chuck Lamar signing? I think he’s being brought in as a potential successor to Gillick and/or Arbuckle. His appearance on the scene is, in my view, very important. A lot more important than guaging who is or is not the 23rd best prospect on the Phils (not that I don’t care about that exercise – it’s just that this news flash seems to overshadow the ranking of prospects for the time being).

The article on Bolt was posted yesterday by xogfog, but what’s interesting is that it’s not a Military published article, like AFTimes, or something. It’s written by some guy down in Georgia, so there could be some inaccuracy, I suppose. He’s trained in Logistics, so he could probably end up anywhere, but he’s stationed right now across the Bay at MacDill in Tampa.
Here’s xogfog’s article:

Correa. Other guys I am thinking about on the list now are Spencer, Diekman, Mitchinson, and maybe even Julian Sampson. Hard to rate Sampson based on 2 IP.

Correa today then its Diekman, Mattair, Sampson, Chapman and a reach on Schlitter.

Getting my vote in late, but Correa for me.
Xfactor, I like Moran, but I think his ceiling is as a fourth outfielder. Still, his odds of making the majors are much better than a lot of people on this list.
