Lehigh Valley Weekly Report

A good week for Lehigh Valley who went 4-1,after their game against Rochester was suspended with Lehigh Valley ahead 6-5 in the fifth inning last night. The ‘Pigs now stand at 24-26 and in 3rd place of the Northern Division of the International League, 6.5 games behind division leading Pawtucket.  The ‘Pigs short road trip continues with two more in Rochester on Wednesday and Thursday before returning home over the weekend for four games against Gwinnett.

‘Pigs Leaders:(Hitting):Cesar Hernandez is 9th in AB’s (185), 6th in hits (57); 6th in stolen bases (15) and 1st in triples (6);Jermaine Mitchell is 2nd in triples (4); Cody Asche is tied for third in triples (3) and is 10th in RBI’s (31).

Pitching:Ethan Martin is tied for 2nd in wins(5) and is 5th in walks (27); Jake Diekman is tied for 7th in saves (7); Tyler CLoyd is 3rd in HR allowed (9) Continue reading Lehigh Valley Weekly Report

2013 MLB Mock Draft – Phillies on the clock (1:16)

There is no good way to do a Mock Draft for the baseball draft because teams don’t draft for need and one pick can destroy an entire mock.  The purpose of this activity is step through as many picks as we can before the draft on June 6.  I will update the poll for the next team every so often, when I have time for the next pick in the draft.  The goal is to put yourself in the mindset of the team making the pick and choose the player you would take in their place. Lets see who could be available at #16.

General Discussion – Week of 5-27-2013 – Boston Week

This home and home with Boston is kind of a neat idea. I guess. Also neat ideas: Scoring runs; not allowing so many runs; DFAing Chad Durbin.

Box Score Recap – 5/27/2013

I kept looking around the boxes for good stuff to talk about, and kept landing on Vance Worley. So I left that line in for us to check out. Aside from that, Lakewood pitchers shut down the Delmarva Shorebirds – Miguel Nunez allowed 1 R on 1H and 2BB in 6 IP and Jordan Guth got the three inning save. Also in that game, Roman Quinn had a triple and 3Ks. Fun.
