Lehigh Valley is now 40-29 and in second place in the Northern Division of the International League, 4 games behind division leading Pawtucket. The ‘Pigs began an eight game road trip in Toledo last evening with a victory and have won 9 of their last 12 games.
‘Pigs Leaders:Kevin Frandsen is 8th in AB’s (248), 7th in hits (70), 5th in doubles (19).
Pitching: Tyler Cloyd is 2nd in wins (7), 3rd in ERA (2.37) and leads the league in WHIP (0.91); Pat Misch is 2nd in losses (8); Phillipe Aumont is 8th in saves (8)
Probables: Tuesday: Elarton; Wednesday: Misch; Thursday: Wright; Friday: Cochran
Notes: Lehigh Valley is a perfect 5-0 in extra inning games.
—Domonic Brown has not played since last Thursday, after suffering a knee injury.
—Tyler Cloyd won his third consecutive start last night and has now gone at least 6 innings in 13 of his 14 games started. He is now a combined 10-1, with an ERA just above 2, between Reading and Lehigh Valley
–Kyle Hudson has missed the last four games with a foot strain.
–Lehigh Valley has not hit a home run in their last 62 innings of play.
—Kevin Frandsen has been very hot, hitting .400 over the last 12 games and continues to play every day at 2B.
–Catcher John Suomi has now missed the last 13 games with a strained hip flexor.
–OF Derrick Mitchell is likely to be out at least another month with a broken wrist.
–The ‘Pigs continue to lead the league in attendance, averaging just under 9,000 fans per game, 8% more than any other club.
–SInce coming off of the disabled list, Tom Cochran is 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA in 6 starts.
—Phillipe Aumont has saves in 4 of his last 5 appearances.
—Cody Overbeck is just 2 for his last 27.
–SInce being sent down from Philadelphia, Raul Valdes is unscored upon in 6 innings of work, walking one and striking out 10. My vote is: Valdes up, Savery down. Valdes threw well for the Phils as well.
—JC Ramirez has looked good in the his early days in the Lehigh Valley bullpen. He is unscored upon in 3 of his 4 outings and has struck out four without walking a batter in his 5 innings.
Transactions: BJ Rosenberg visited Philly (6/9) and was sent back to the ‘Pigs on Sunday. Last Tuesday, LHP Raul Valdes was optioned to Lehigh Valley from Philadelphia. On Friday, OF Jason Pridie was signed as a free agent. On Saturday, Catcher Erik Kratz was called up to Philadelphia.
Yeah, Kratz was just optioned. I’ve got Valdes back in Philly as well, although we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to hear for sure.

It will be an interesting decision, especially since they didn’t just announce it tonight…could be…
1 – Valdes (which seems the most likely but don’t know why they would wait until tomorrow?)
2 – Cloyd, to start this weekend and move Kendrick to the bullpen
3 – Ramirez or Aumont – seems a bit soon for either one.
4 – or maybe the most likely of all would be Rosenberg
5 – Bonilla or May I suppose is possible, albeit very unlikely
Seems like the Phils deal is if the move requires a 40 man roster move, they wait to the next day so I’m wondering if it isn’t Cloyd. Sounds like they can safely put Herndon, Stutes, or Galvis on the 60 day DL if they aren’t already there…

None of the three you mentioned are.
I’ve got to think whomever the pitcher is will be a right hander.

I’m guessing it’s Cloyd. They are probably hoping to catch the Happ first time thru the league magic.
