Lakewood Game Report

NYPhilsmaniac19 was out at the Lakewood Game Wednesday evening and filed this report:
Pitching:
Ethan Stewart went the full 7  innings and looked decent.  The radar gun wasn’t on for the first inning or  two but the fastest pitch I saw was 87.  Hard to tell what he was throwing  from the angle I had (well up the 1B line), but he mostly had them off-balance  except for one inning (the 4th) Continue reading Lakewood Game Report

Around the System–Bullpen (LV and READING)

The bullpen of the upper part of the organization is currently thin because of the Phillies recent dependence on call ups but certainly some noteworthy performances below.  Next up will be the Clearwater and Lakewood bullpens, Sunday or Monday.

Lehigh Valley

Tyson Brummett, 27, Phils 7th round pick in 2007, 17 games between Reading and LV; 2-0 with a 2.17 ERA and 1 save; 29IP 15H 3BB 35K; 1.13 GO/AO; .152 opp. avg., 0.62 WHIP; 0.9BB/10.9K per nine; It has been an entirely different Tyson Brummett this year, a guy I had written off to organizational status.  More often than not he has dominated with outstanding BB/K ratio and .opp avg..  Not sure if this is an aberration, but he has begun seeing action in critical situations for Lehigh Valley.
