SS Tyler Greene, a high draft pick that has really struggled in Lakewood during the early going has been transferred back to Extended Spring Training and will likely join Williamsport when their season begins. Greene, just 19, was hitting .147 and was also struggling in the field. Joining the BlueCLaws will be SS Stephen Malcolm, who was an 8th round pick in 2010 and hit .253 for the GCL Phils last year before missing 2011 after being sent home due to disciplinary issues.

I’m glad they finally pulled the trigger with Tyler, he was just overmatched. Malcolm over Quinn I guess.

I wished they could have let him get 50/75 more ABs at LKW, then onto WLMSPT. lIke Altherr and Franco last year, but they know best.

Franco didn’t start a Lakewood last year. He played there for 2 weeks at the end of the season.

Whatever! As usual you miss the point worrying about insignificant details.

This is intriguing to me. Middle infield is already going to be back-logged with the likes of Walding, Quinn and some of the Latin kids. Really going to be interesting to see how the organization spreads these guys out.

3rd base also…Ache, Franco, Martinez, possibly Walding

Hopefully Asche will continue his play and move to AA when short season starts and maybe Martinez or Franco will get hot and earn a trip to Clearwater in the summer.
Speaking of Clearwater, I’m pleasantly surprised with how quickly it seems Biddle is settling in at high A ball. Through 6 innings, he has 6 k’s and 0 er’s, with 3 hits and 3 bb.

Trevor May – 6.1 inn, 0 hits, 0 runs, 5 k, 4 bb. Not a bad night for our top two pitching prospects

I’ll take the walks when there are no hits. He’s got nasty stuff.

Knigge keeps doing it, does he have a future?

I think so. He’s certainly got a live arm, throws strike and seems to have a high upside. I was in Bradenton for last night’s game and saw a 23 year old who still looks like a 20 yr old filling out his frame. Last night when he came in to relieve Biddle with two men on, he blew a 98 mph fb by the Marauders’ ss Drew Maggi to end the inning. Biddle also had an absolutely outstanding outing.

Walding has been playing third base since Spring Training started ,they moved him there in instructional’s.He is in my opinion the best best S.S they have but he is to big in their opinion for the middle.I know he is better than Malcomb , Quinn & Greene. They drafted all these Short Stops and the one guy who can really play the spot they move, while all the rest struggle.Makes no since. They need to look at Ripken, Jeter & Rodriquez all tall middle infielders at one time & all great.I think they should move him back for a while & see how he does, give him a chance.I hear that it’s just one person that prefers him at 3rd rather than Short, but he is calling the shots.I also hear Walding is doing great at Third.
