Here’s the link. He says all the right things, and really he’s assembling an impressive CV as he looks to move up to the next level. He’ll get the call sometime soon, hopefully he’s able to work up the ladder to the top spot in the Phillies org. Congrats to him on the accomplishment.

I was half hoping someone would hire Pete so that we could promote Ryne to the bench job.

Yeah, me too. They should give him a role on the MLB club regardless. He’s wasted in AAA.

It seems that Ryne could be high on the list of near-future MLB managers. That he’s stayed with the Phils into 2012 is a good sign that they want him to manage one more season at LV and then come up as a coach for the big club…and take over as mgr as Cholly’s contract expires.
Hopefully, that IS the plan, and that he will stay at LV until raised to to the big club. Any time extended beyond that scenario could end up losing him to another franchise.

In the “good ole boy”, back stabbing, “but he is my friend” side of baseball anything is possible. Sandberg should of been managing in the Majors in 2012.

Not many gm.s have the confidence to hire a former HOF player as a mgr. Why would the Phil’s want him to remind them of the worst trade ever?

When did he get kicked out of the HOF?
